Dr. Wittersgreen insisted on meeting virtually, which I am generally okay with, but did not have a secure, HIPPA compliant platform. She had me send my SSN and credit card information via email. She would also reference other clients in our sessions. Dr. Wittersgreen’s organizational skills also proved challenging. She was regularly late and would reschedule meetings. She would explicitly ask to meet in person and then be surprised five days later when I asked for her office address. However, if you are late she extends very little grace. Additionally, she spent the majority of our sessions talking about her own life. She spoke at length about current events, her family members, and her dogs, which took up the majority of our sessions. Interacting with Dr. Wittersgreen added stress to my day. She would send long block texts complaining about the number of clients she had and would begin our sessions talking about how busy she was or how stressful recent shootings have been for her. I did not feel like she had the bandwidth to talk to me and was uncomfortable sharing my issues because I did not want to add to her plate. When a crisis did arise between sessions, I did not feel comfortable reaching out. It is possible that I interacted with her during a bad time in her life/schedule, but at this stage I would not recommend Dr. Wittersgreen to anyone looking for a reliable therapist.
