Customer experiences
YouthBuild is a great organization that really cares for it's participants, as well as staff. If you buy in to the program, it can be a life changing experience!
I went to youthbuild last year and this place is very unprofessional! I am African American myself but the black staff working there have favorites and let there family come and get away with murder ! The staff curse doing open hours when students are there and just overall are unprofessional like I said . My case manager didn’t have the best interest for me and didn’t want to help me with the things I NEED but for the things she WANTED! I once got in trouble for telling some females to stop talking over the OSHA teacher and stop being rude to her because I was trying to learn ! I do regret stop going because I wanted to get my GED And other certifications but then again I don’t because I didn’t want to be at a place where I feel like I’m not valued and respected as a person ! Another thing if you are trying to get your GED they barely help you with the education part ! The staff upstairs is mostly American American and ghetto but if the staff were mostly Caucasian (upstairs) that place would probably be ran 10xs better ! I honestly don’t recommend anyone to go here . maybe in the past this place was better but now it’s not ! A friend of mine told some students that would barely come maybe twice a week or less got to graduate and the staff try to stress that if you didn’t have enough hours you wouldn’t graduate! I hate this place I would come home stressed and felt defeated. High school wasn’t even that way for me as this place is !
I was present to assist with building storage and training facilities for the clients. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, and obviously has a deep love and commitment to the youth of Louisville. This organization clearly has the best interests of all youth, regardless of background, race or circumstances at heart and is doing all they can to brighten the future of Louisville's young people
My name is Ronald Hughes and for some reason you can not get in touch with any one up there I may not have been the best student but I am an alumni and for some reason there is very poor answering services all I needed was my GED transcripts and no one would help me on that I love the school and what they are doing for our youth but they could treat someone better when it comes to getting any thing that could further their education ….
