Really versatile sports bar/ beer house for families, buddies, etc. Tons of TVs & great food & atmosphere without chaos. Had dill pickle ranch wings & avocado fries topped off later w Reese's PB cup chocolate shake... ALL was very good & service great as well.

During our visit to Boulder Tap House in Ames, we sought to experience authentic American cuisine. The menu featured a variety of classic dishes like burgers and wings, which met our expectations. However, for visitors from Europe accustomed to more refined flavors, this fare might seem somewhat heavy. The service was notably attentive, with staff frequently checking in to ensure our satisfaction. While this level of attention is appreciated by many, we would have preferred a bit more personal space to enjoy our meal uninterrupted. Overall, Boulder Tap House offers a quintessential American dining experience. For those eager to immerse themselves in the local culinary scene, this establishment fits the bill. However, if you’re in search of more sophisticated flavors and a tranquil atmosphere, exploring other dining options might be advisable.

Great place for wings, nicely cooked and larger sized. Better than B dubs (almost all) and Wingstop (in Ames anyway). I also had the Spicy burger which was equally great. Will enjoy again!

A very casual place with a decently sized parking lot. We came on an Iowa State basketball game day for lunch, so that’s definitely our fault for the slow/mediocre service. I loved my carnitas street corn bowl. It was a great size and the proportions of beans, pico, carnitas, corn, and sauce were perfect to the amount of rice given. The leftovers also tasted great. 😌 (the picture I took didn’t do serve justice, I was so hungry and just wanted to eat) Boyfriend got the chicken version of the street corn bowel & he agreed that the carnitas version is had a better taste. I would come back again. :) PS: other items pictured was guac & my mocktail. Guacamole was ok! Nothing special.
