Customer experiences
Absolutely Disgusted with Walmart – Worst Experience Ever Location: Appleby Line & Dundas, Burlington Manager: Bushra I am beyond disgusted with the way I was treated at this Walmart. I purchased a basinet through self-checkout — brand new, sealed, with a full receipt in hand. A few days later, when I tried to return it, the associates and the so-called “manager” Bushra refused to process my return, claiming the barcode on the receipt didn’t match the box or what was “in their system.” I explained everything in clear detail: • I self-checked out. • I have the original receipt. • The item is brand new, unopened, untouched. • I bought only one basinet. • I have the credit card transaction to prove the purchase. • It was a rollback item for $59.97, there were a couple of boxes on the shelf. Instead of listening or even trying to help, they kept repeating the same nonsense — that the item is “different” from the receipt, and that they “can’t take it back.” They even suggested that I somehow bought an already returned item — blaming me for their own inventory and system issues! How is that my fault? I grabbed a box from the aisle like any normal customer would. I don’t work at Walmart — why should I be investigating your stock problems? I told them very clearly: • Check your IT systems. • Check the database. • Match the receipt details, barcode, purchase date/time, and the credit card last 4 digits. I gave them everything they needed to verify the purchase. But they made zero effort. No escalation, no investigation, just laziness and disrespect towards a paying customer. Bushra, the manager, was extremely rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. She did not offer any real solution, showed no accountability, and clearly did not care one bit about customer service. It’s absolutely shameful. Walmart expects customers to trust them with their money, but when something goes wrong because of their own broken system, they throw the customer under the bus without even trying to fix it. This is theft. This is negligence. This is customer abuse. I will never shop at this Walmart again, and I will make sure everyone I know hears about how horribly I was treated. Walmart should be ashamed.
On my most recent trip on Friday Evening Oct 3rd,I had an awful headache and accidentally dropped my credit card, I was completely distraught and panicking and looked everywhere, I went to customer service and the lady was very kind and took my information but no one had turned it in so I decided to keep looking and as I walked away, an amazing store employee named Jenny asked me if I needed any help and I explained that I lost my card and she said she found it and was bringing it to customer service when she saw me searching the floor. Jenny you are an angel! Thank you again for helping me! This Walmart was already my preferred store and this experience showed me just how awesome the team is at this location!
My mom and I came through the self checkout in the late evening with a huge cartload of groceries and a mini fridge. We went to go to an open register with lots of space for the cart and items, and were told we couldn’t use that one, and they forced us into a smaller middle spot surrounded by people — only to then let multiple other customers go to the spot we were trying to use originally. The employee Rachel was not pleasant and forced us into a spot we could barely get our cart into. This Walmart already sucks for closing their employee run registers so early and forcing us to be our own checkout service - the least they could do is let us use a green, lit up space that was out of the way.
I would give 0 or negative stars. Bitter boring sad brown lady coughing all over customers products and profiling them. (I am a brown girl myself and yet could feel the hatred off this lady my entire time in the cosmetics area). The short brown lady working in the cosmetics section gave us dirty looks before we even walked in to the area. She clearly suspected we were stealing when we hadnt done anything wrong. I was choosing between colours and laughing with my friend but guess she didn’t like to see others in a good mood. She kept walking towards us even though there were several other people in the area. Proceeded to cough into her hands several times before checking out my items. Coughed directly onto my items. I picked up a plastic bag myself and let her drop the items into it so she wouldn’t have to touch my items anymore with her germs. Lysol wiped my items as soon as I got to my car (yes it was that serious). She clearly proceeded to call loss prevention on us and we were followed around the store for absolute no reason by several male loss prevention employees staring us down. Guess having a quick fun trip to Walmart is now a crime at this Burlington location!! Do better atleast with the hygiene aspect of things if you’re not going to improve your racial profiling bitter employees. Extremely terrible experience.
