I can proudly call myself a homeowner. Something I would not have believed possible a little over a year ago. It wasn’t until my partner and I closed on our home this past March that I realized I am one. How does one go about achieving this longed for goal? Well, it begins with having the right people in your corner. I thank God each and every day I wake up in my house for blessing us with Brian Masterson. We were blessed to have Family who were willing to give us and our children a place to stay so we could save up money. As first time homebuyers, we knew very little of what to expect or where to begin in achieving our goal of owning a house. Brian became our guide. Before we began talking numbers or even finding a real estate agent, he advised us on what we needed to do became attractive buyers like putting a game plan together for getting our credit up, how much we needed to save, what to do about showing lenders we are reliable and dependable. Brian made sure we understood the process of home buying. He educated and advised us along the way. He saw us through a seller’s market. Despite being based in Maryland, Brian made sure to cater to the requirements here in North Carolina. Every single “i” was dotted and every “t” was crossed when it came to qualifying us for a loan. We trusted him in recommending a real estate agent in Hight Point, NC who turned out to be a blessing, also. The most important part is Brian cared about how this journey affected us as people. He stood by us through ups and downs. He was a solid rock when we experienced setbacks. He always went above and beyond what was needed specially when it came to saving us money. Brian helped us help ourselves in achieving our goal. I am a first time homeowner. And, I owe a lot of it to him. I have used the mortgage services of Brian Masterson with Bay Capital Mortgage several times over the past couple of years. With a recent employment transfer to the state of Georgia I once again reached out to Brian to facilitate the mortgage process. This transaction was a slightly different as I was purchasing a completed house from a builder. The builder representative placed a great deal of pressure on me to use their lender, but I was adamant that I had my financing already underway and that the mortgage company associated with the builder would not be required. If you have ever experienced dealing with a builder, it is a hard sell. Based on Brian’s advice and market guidance I secured a rate of 6.5%. The day after we locked the rate the market turned dramatically worse with rates moving as high as 7.25%. This will save me multi-thousands of dollars over the term on my loan. I highly recommend Brian as a mortgage advisor. You will receive constant communication, market analysis and most importantly a smooth and painless transaction. I highly recommend Brian Masterson and Bay Capital Mortgage. I contacted Brian on 9/21/21 for a mortgage refinance and we were able to go to closing by 10/22/21. That was a really quick turnaround. My bank did not have competitive rates and my credit union estimated the refinance could take up to 75 days. Brian explained all of our options and was easy to reach for questions. As a result, we got the best rate and terms for the loan and got it done quickly! Brian and Emily were a pleasure to work with on the refinance and I would not hesitate to work with them again.
