Well… let’s say that this review is purely a reflection of one person not the entire company. I have been a long time customer of C&E (6 years exactly) up until recently. I needed to secure a surety bond through C&E and I was working with Jon C whom I’ve worked with in the past. First thing is this year in renewing my bond it was just not feasible for me to pay $2400 for a bond that I know others have obtained for much much less. However, I was willing to pay this very expensive premium considering this is something that I need for my business. I initially contacted C&E on 4/30/25 when I realized my bond needed to be renewed (THEY DO NOT FOLLOW UP IN ANY WAY TO INFORM YOU THAT YOU ARE EXPIRING). I left a message and my number for Jon C to call me with no return call. I called again on 5/2/2025 and again left a message and my number for a return call from Jon C which again I did not get. Finally I heard from Jon C on 5/3/2025 and was told that I could renew my bond and it would be $2400 (plus a 2% credit card fee) but it would need to be paid immediately. In today’s economy $2400 is quite a bit and I unfortunately was unable to pay that immediately. In the interim of not hearing back from Jon C and knowing time was now of the essence I started doing some research finding other companies that supplied surety bonds. I filled out several applications but none were approved. In speaking with Jon C I explained I did not have the $2400 immediately I would try to have the payment by Monday 5/5/2025… due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to pay on 5/5/2025 as well, I informed Jon C of this and told him I would definitely be able to pay the premium on Friday 5/9/2025. This is where it gets interesting… one of the other companies I filled an application out for responded with an approval of a bond at not just a cheaper price but A HUGELY LOWER PRICE. I was able to secure this bond however it was not until the afternoon of 5/9/2025. The C&E office was closed at this time. So… Saturday morning (today) I get a call from Mario who works with Jon C and I explained that I was not going to renew because I found a bond at a cheaper rate. Mario says okay no problem thanks have a nice day. I immediately got a call from Jon C directly and this is the disappointing part. Jon C not only called me on a Saturday morning he actually got an attitude because of MY PERSONAL BUSINESS DECISION. He got loud on the phone threatening to report a lapse in my bond and when I attempted to speak he got very loud and said “Goodbye, Goodbye” and hung up the phone on me. I attempted to call him back and he had blocked my number! Moral of the story: Sure do business with him and he’s great but cut ties and you are spoken to like less than a human and totally disrespected. For this I would never do business with this company again! “You never know when a customer may need your services so you should always treat them with the courtesy and respect they deserve!” I gave a 3 star review because the rest of the employees I spoke to were actually very pleasant.

I was referred to Jon Christiana by a friend many years ago and I decided to bundle my home and auto through him. I'm not always an easy customer. I'm nice, but I'm demanding, ask a lot of questions, and hold those around me to a high standard. Jon handles me with grace and professionalism. We have become good friends over the years. I very much appreciate Jon and would highly recommend him.
