Customer experiences
We really enjoyed our tour with Ernie. He was knowledgeable about the history of PEI and took us to beautiful locations and on cool trails.
I'd recommend renting the 500 watt bikes if you're a little bit bigger then me. I'm 6'10 and 260 lbs and found the 350w bike perfect enough for an easy 2 hour bike ride. We did approximately 20km (15miles) around Charlottetown doing a couples self-guided tour. The city is small and super easy to move around. We covered some of the confederation trail too up to Tower St all within 2 hours, as well as most of the landmarks throughout the city without stopping for drinks, snacks or lunch. If you are wanting to explore the town of Charlottetown on bike - this will be perfect enough for October weather without breaking a sweat.. Although we considered renting one of their mountain bikes, we decided that their 350watt e-bikes were the way to go because they allowed us to move around the city quite easily. We found them on Google maps and reserved 2 e-bikes while we were there.. Its low season so, there were plenty. Would highly recommend to any couples looking for a fun adventure that surely delights and is a little bit challenging too.
I had a great experience renting an e-bike from Rising Tides. I was able to walk in on a Tuesday morning during July and they got me set up right away. I had never used an e-bike but the staff gave me a great tutorial and I was hooked. I biked across the bridge to Stratford, which had great biking infrastructure, and explored for a couple of hours. The staff at Rising Tides were great and helped facilitate a lovely day in PEI.
I wish I could give it five stars but the experience wasn’t. We rented two bikes for five days. On the first day, a Sunday, we were given bikes that obviously had not been checked for problems. We had to return to the shop three times. They didn’t have a mechanic around that day. In the end, we left with a bike with misaligned handlebars, to return the next day when the mechanic was around. I had brought some of my tools and my son was able to fix it. When we returned the bikes, I mentioned to the gentleman all the issues we had and that we would appreciate a discount given the stress and disappointment it caused. No credit so far and it’s been a week now.
