Customer experiences
Recently visited Walmart two week’s ago and purchase some hidden gems for kid’s birthday Party and also for my 3 year old toddler. This location is off of McCowan and Highway 7 (Markham) Location attached to CF Markville This location was and probably is on going construction (This place is safe to enter) more of a renovation inside the store This aisle with the clearance is located closer to the outdoor gardening center / automotive section We purchase a bunch of Thomas and Friends Train , Mario Cart Figures by Hot Wheels , Minecraft with Steve , The automatic Crane and the egg smasher . All these items are minimum 40% OFF to 70% OFF . You will need to scan the barcode at the bottom of the original box , not the yellow label sticker The reason why this was given a 4 Star was , I find that they could’ve labelled the aisles more a bit better or have signs that can direct customers at the time of the construction where to go instead of myself hunting what I need . This makes a regular customer walk more than usual. Other than that , we are satisfied with the purchase and would recommend anyone who is looking for a gift for friends and family while the construction / renovation is on going for further discounts . I cannot guarantee if any of these items are still here if you visit this location. But I’m sure you are bound to by a jug of milk , apples and eggs .
This review is for the Markville Mall Walmart. I do not usually visit this location as much as I used to, but I have noticed the recent renovations and want to give credit where it is due. The store looks much better and more modern now. I really like how the food and produce section has been moved to the back, which makes the store feel less crowded and more organized. The spacing is improved, it feels less overwhelming, and I appreciate that a hot food section is being added as well. Parking, however, can still be very difficult to find, especially on weekends when motorcycle lessons take up a large portion of the lot, which makes the parking situation chaotic. That said, I had a very disturbing experience here on Sunday, September 7, 2025, around 1:30 PM. Near the washroom and toy section at the back of the store, I witnessed a tall teenager accidentally step on a reproductive health item that had clearly been used and still contained bodily fluids. This created a serious biohazard and raised concerns about possible transmission of diseases. It was extremely concerning because there were many young children and families in that area, and several children almost stepped on it as well. I immediately reported it to a South Asian male employee and told him directly that it was disgusting and not acceptable. Unfortunately, I did not see him make an announcement or visibly address it right away, so I cannot confirm if it was cleared immediately. I truly hope it was, because it should never have been left there in the first place. Not only is this unsafe, but the fact that it was in the toy aisle makes it even more troubling. I do not know the intent of the person who disposed of it, but leaving something like that in a children’s area is absolutely not okay. Parents nearby were disturbed and even thanked me for speaking up, which showed how unsafe and uncomfortable the situation felt for everyone present. While the renovations and staff friendliness deserve recognition, this incident highlights a very serious health and safety issue that management must take seriously. Stronger monitoring, quicker responses, and stricter cleanliness checks are necessary to ensure that shoppers, especially children, remain safe. I have attached a blurred photo of what I witnessed, not to be graphic, but so that management understands the seriousness of this situation. Hopefully it has been removed and addressed properly.
The Markville mall Walmart is very big and super busy all the time but hygiene and cleanliness is perfect than other Walmarts I’ve seen. Washrooms are very clean and pleasant to use. No idea about the cleaning team but I highly appreciate their work. Good job team 🙌
Disappointing Experience with Customer Service and Return Policy I recently visited the Walmart Supercentre at Markville Mall to purchase a pack of baseball cards for my nephew’s birthday. The cards were locked up for security purposes, which is fine, but I had to scan a QR code and wait for an associate to assist me. No one came, so I eventually had to flag someone down to unlock the case. When I checked out, I specifically asked for a gift receipt in case my nephew already had the cards. A few days later, I tried to return the unopened pack with the receipt, only to be told by the cashier that trading cards are not returnable. I asked why, since the item was sealed and I had proof of purchase. She called another customer service representative who, instead of helping, told me rather bluntly that “trading cards are not refundable.” When I pointed out there were no signs at the locked cabinet, checkout, or anywhere else indicating this policy, he flipped over the receipt and said I should have scanned the QR code to read the return policy which makes no sense, since the receipt is given after the purchase. When I questioned that logic, he told me I “should have thought about what I was buying before buying it,” in a very condescending and rude tone. Thankfully, when I asked for his manager, she came over and explained the policy in a calm and respectful way, which is how all customer interactions should be handled. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. The lack of visible return policy signage, poor communication, and unprofessional attitude of one employee made what should have been a simple return unnecessarily unpleasant. *************************** In response to "Walmart Supercentre (Owner): Thank you for your acknowledgement. However, I do not consider this matter resolved. I have contacted the store directly and am waiting to hear back from a store manager regarding this extremely negative customer service experience.
