We drove to Burlington yesterday, and after a long drive and a sleepless night with sick family members, we woke up to find a $47 parking ticket—apparently for not registering our car. We were so tired, we forgot. While we understand the importance of following regulations, it's surprising how quickly enforcement happens, especially when there's no snow to clear or street cleaning taking place at 8 a.m. It’s difficult to understand the reasoning behind restricting street parking in the spring. Why penalize residents and visitors for parking on public streets—aren’t they intended for that purpose? It starts to feel less like a public service and more like a way to generate revenue. Welcome to Burlington!-Wow!

Why don't you allow on street parking at night? Or for more than 5 hours. Why do I have to request an exemption why not just allow it since you can get an exemption anyways? Parking bylaw is a joke in Burlington! The money you would save not having to employ these people and have them working overnight on weekends would make up for the amount of tickets they give out.
