very honest, as we came on monday, we were looking for sardines and they told us that the fish market isn’t open on monday, so there won’t be any fresh ingredients. unlike what we tried on time out market, the food is cooked with fresh ingredients and tasty.
Nice place to try local cuisine. A mix of locals and tourists, but really cosy. We got the cod of the day, which was a bit over cooked but nice enough to enjoy the meal. The sauce and sides definitely matched the dish. The octopus was glorious and the chorizo amazing. One thing we didn't know was they just accept cash. We had to get cash from an ATM. Nice experience to try cod and seafood.
CASH ONLY! There are a few ATMs around the restaurant, but you make a wrong turn and you’ll be on an ATM hunt. Photos of menu attached are as of February 2025. Paella - 3.5/5 Grilled cod (Bacalhau à D. Carlos) - 3.8/5 Wait for a table of 2 wasn’t too long, but the food does take a while to come. Expect to wait after ordering. Probably will not come again. Had better food in the area.
