We went to Carisma for a friend’s farewell dinner, and it was an unforgettable experience. Our group was large 10 adults and three kids yet the staff handled everything with ease, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the evening. The atmosphere was elegant but still warm and inviting, perfect for both special occasions and relaxed gatherings. I ordered the Calamarata, and it was absolutely delicious perfectly cooked pasta with rich, authentic flavors that highlight why Carisma is considered one of Toronto’s top Italian restaurants. From start to finish, everything about the evening was smooth: attentive service, an extensive wine list, and food that truly impressed everyone at the table. Even with such a big group, every dish came out beautifully prepared. Carisma delivers on all fronts outstanding food, impeccable service, and a sophisticated yet comfortable setting. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an elevated Italian dining experience in Toronto.

First: The atmosphere of the place is absolutely dreamy—the dim lighting, the dancing candles, the beautiful shadows of the olive tree, and the music all create a wonderful time and an amazing feeling. Second: The staff is extremely helpful, very kind, and quick in service—you don’t have to wait for someone to notice you. Third: We ordered Burrata and Fried zucchini flowers as appetizers, followed by Truffle pasta and fish. • The Burrata was absolutely delicious, 10/10. • The Fried zucchini flowers were tasty, 10/10. • The Truffle pasta was average in taste. • The fish was 10/10.

Food was very good and the venue was very nice. Service was very good but upon reflection, I think it was very deceptive and I was surprised when I received the bill and saw we were charged $18 for bottled water. I didn't say anything at the time as I joined the table late and assumed they had been informed it was $9/bottle of water. When my family first arrived they were asked if they wanted sparkling or flat water. There was no indication there would be a charge and we didn't even get the bottle initially so the assumption was this was tap water. The waiter refilled our water as we drank without asking which resulted in being charged for two bottles. Also, why ask if there was a special occasion for the reservation and not do anything to recognize it? Upon reflection, this soured my experience and I would hesitate to go back because of this. In summary, food was great. Service was friendly but deceptive.
