The place is nice, an impressive decor and plenty of staff around which were very professional. The food was nice, a good quality, but not exceptional food, just your nice good quality food. I wouldn't say you're getting value for your money, and the pasta is extremely overpriced - £48 for one portion of pasta to share (2 starter size portions). The cocktails were very nice, I tried the passion fruit apperol spritz, and it was lovely. Burrata is nice, we ordered the truffle one and got the pistachio one, which was amazing, so we didn't mind. The tartar was okay, nice, but not exceptional. The bread was nice but served cold, home-made grissini lovely, but the whipped butter so - so. The truffle pasta was very nice, perfectly cooked, just very tiny portion. Overall, the service was good, attentive, but very rushed, no real break between courses, and they did not wait for me returning to the table and served the shared pasta while I was in the bathroom, so I missed the theatre. Overall good, no complaints, just not exceptional, hence 4 accross the board.
Carlotta is a very nice restaurant- nice decorations, vibey ambiance and good Italian food. I had come for a birthday celebration, with my family, and really enjoyed the experience. The toilets are also very unique! Would come again! A stand out dish in particular was the starter of Beef Carpaccio- absolutely delicious! For dessert, definitely give the ‘Wedding Cake’ a try.
Our visit to Carlotta in Marylebone was such a treat, from the delicious food to the incredible service from Vincenzo, Damiano, and the entire team. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. The service struck that perfect balance - attentive without being intrusive, warm yet highly professional. The arancini were perfectly crisp on the outside with a flavourful center. The paccheri all’arrabbiata had just the right amount of heat, while the crab & vodka pasta was rich, silky, and absolutely delicious. We finished with the chocolate tart, which was indulgent without being too heavy - just perfect. Beyond the food, what made the lunch truly special was the brilliant team. Every single person working went above and beyond to create an atmosphere that was both lively and welcoming. It’s rare to find a place where everyone contributes to such a seamless experience, but Carlotta has nailed it. We can’t wait to come back!
