Customer experiences
⭐ 1 Star (because of front desk service) let’s call her “Madame R” I had my first appointment at this dental clinic today. I arrived on time The assistant who took my X-rays was extremely kind, respectful, and professional. She later assisted the dentist and did an excellent job both times. She truly deserves five stars. Then I met Dr. Alicia Marchand, who was wonderful. Even though it was my first visit, she made me feel very comfortable. She was patient, took her time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and performed a very complete oral examination. Between all the procedures (there were four in total, including the X-rays), I was genuinely thankful for her care and professionalism. Both Dr. Marchand and her assistant absolutely deserve five stars. Unfortunately, my experience changed completely after I left the exam room. Following Dr. Marchand’s instructions, I went back to the reception to finalize the paperwork and schedule my next appointment. Madame R seemed busy, so I sat down to wait politely. I noticed that her attitude toward other patients was quite rude; she appeared more focused on her phone calls than on the people physically standing in front of her. When I kindly approached her to ask if we could finish the process — because I had to leave for work — she suddenly started preparing a bill. That surprised me, because when I booked my appointment I had been told that my first visit would be fully covered (100 %) by the Canadian Dental Care Plan handled by Sun Life. Madame R looked up the record and, in a sharp tone, said that the policy had changed, that “patients never know about it,” and that “policies are always changing.” I calmly explained that I was clearly told over the phone that my first visit was 100 % covered. She became defensive and unhelpful, suggesting I speak with her manager — who never appeared. In the end, she told me, in a challenging tone, that “just this once,” the payment would be postponed until my next visit. I thanked her again and explained that I really needed to go. Her response escalated into repeatedly telling me, “then leave, go!” I asked for her name so that I could mention her behavior in a review, and she said, “Why?” and added that they “don’t need Google reviews,” refusing to tell me her name. She threw the paperwork toward me and again told me to leave, right in front of my wife, her colleagues, and another patient. I was so upset that the only thing I said before leaving was, “Take a chill pill!” My wife, who was waiting in the lobby, confirmed that this receptionist was equally rude to other patients and even spoke disrespectfully to her coworkers. I want to make it clear: I never refused to pay. I only asked for an explanation of why I was being billed for something that should have been covered by my insurance, especially since I was promised full coverage during my booking call. A few hours later, I received an official message from the clinic inviting me to leave a Google review — which felt ironic, considering that Madame R had just said they didn’t need reviews. Both my wife and other people present witnessed everything. I sincerely ask the clinic’s management to review this situation. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, especially when they are polite and cooperative. I believe that when a clinic confirms the price or insurance coverage of a service at the time of booking, that information should be respected. If policies or terms change later, the patient should still be charged based on what was originally confirmed. That’s a very important rule of trust and professionalism. If I decide to transfer my dental file to another clinic — which is my legal right — I ask that the process be handled smoothly. It’s a shame, because I truly felt comfortable and well cared for by Dr. Marchand and her assistant, who both deserve full recognition for their excellent work. I highly recommend Dr. Alicia Marchand and her assistant — but the front desk experience completely ruined what could have been a perfect visit.
The staff was very polite, professional and understanding. Highly recommended. I have a phobia as to dentists, they were extremely compassionate.
Great experience for my 18 month, would highly recommend. Nice reception, dental hygienist and dentist. We will be returning :)
It’s always a pleasure coming to this dental clinic. Professional team and staff answers all your questions.
