CMC Hardwood Floors

CMC Hardwood floors came recommended by a local real estate agent that worked with me on the purchase of my home. I trusted her rec and she was right! Marcos and CMC Hardwood Floors really did an incredible job with the restoration of our 90-year old floors! We are so impressed and very happy! In addition to the end result, Marcos was incredibly responsive from our initial connection to the weeks leading up to the work and throughout the refinishing process — and on-time during work days. I really liked the online system for reviewing the contract and communicating with Marcos. At our consult, Marcos noticed the age of the floor and spoke realistically about what we could expect through sanding and refinishing (seeing the nail heads, cracks and gaps, existing stains, etc). We wanted to embrace these worn flaws so we let them be, but he could have replaced boards had we wanted to do that. We opted-in for the 99% dust-free sanding and everything seems dust-free to me so that was worth it. All-in-all, an incredible job and we're very excited to move in and enjoy our "new" floors! In case it's also helpful to know how we achieved this look/finish...Marcos and crew sanded the red oak floors and then he applied an extra matte commercial grade clear coat.

We recently purchased. a home with carpet on top of hardwood floors that were original to the house. We decided to try to refinish the floors since they were in good condition. The only problem was that parts of the house had vinyl tiles over the hardwood. After removing the vinyl tiles, what remained was a layer of asphalt mastic. It didn't look promising at all. CMC flooring to the rescue. Marcos (the owner) came by and gave me a quote, told me that they will be able to work with it, they just needed to use a special attachment to remove it. As promised, the floors came out great! It took 2.5 days for 3 sanding sessions. We decided to use the hardwax oil refinishing product, which allowed a variety of colors. Marcos made the samples on the floor so can see what the product looks like on the actual floor, rather than just going off of pictures. The floors came out great, it took 1.5 days to apply 2 coats, (a day each) and we were able to walk on it the floors after 24 hours of the 2nd coat. We left the windows open to let the product air out, and moved in with furniture after 48 hours. We love our new floors. Marcos was very professional, courteous and always on-time. When I first spoke with him on the phone, he explained the entire process and educated me on the different options. I always had time to think it over over before making a decision, there was no pressure at all. At the end of every day, Marcos would call and give me an update on the process. We also went with the dustless sanding, and true to their word, there were no sand dust in the house! We cannot be happier with the services that CMC Hardwood Floor Refinishing had provided and Marcos is a true professional and pleasure to work with.

Marcos and the team at CMC did a great job. They were referred to me by the importer of my unique end-cut wood floor, and I'm glad I went with CMC for a major repair and refinishing of my floors. Marcos gave me great advice and I'm glad I followed it. He's a true artisan.
