My puppy Finn started with a 4-week board and train when he was just 3 months old, and the progress he made in that short time was incredible. Dan truly has a gift—he’s like a dog whisperer. Since then, I’ve continued bringing Finn back for both private lessons and group classes, and every single session has been a great experience. Dan not only understands dogs, but he also knows how to teach owners in a way that makes training feel natural, positive, and fun. Finn absolutely loves going to see him, and I love the confidence I feel knowing I have the tools and support to raise a well-behaved, happy pup. I dropped off my 9 week old puppy two days after I got him to go through the 4-week puppy training and boarding with Dan. I was so apprehensive to part from my new dog, but I’m really glad I did! Dan took such great care of him—teaching him basic commands, how to sleep through the night in his crate, and potty training. He even socialized my puppy by taking him to stores and having him play with his grandkids! I visited Winston once a week to help him remember me and when he came home he was happy and well-trained. Now Winston is 6 months old and he is such a calm, obedient dog. I occasionally take him to the group classes that they offer several times a week to keep up his training, and Winston loves going to day care. These people are true professionals and I highly recommend them!

We re-rehomed a 3-year-old GSD, if it were not for the professional instruction of the trainers this would have been a disaster. I am so appreciative of their service, I so wish I would have brought in my past "good easy" dogs, could have received so much more out of our close relationship. I will not make that mistake again, CO Dog Acadamy is the best place for me and my best friend. Boarding has never been a problem, as well as grooming. I love this place, more importantly my GSD does too! A shout out to all the staff who have continuously demonstrated that customer service and my best friends care is priority number one!

I can’t express how grateful I am for Dan at Colorado Dog Academy. My daughter and her family recently rescued a 5-year-old Pit Bull named Maverick. He has been a wonderful addition to their family and has excelled in obedience training. However, he is quite reactive around other dogs. My daughter had been working diligently with a professional trainer for some time, but they weren’t making much progress with Maverick. I encouraged my daughter to contact the Academy and speak with Dan, who I have know for 40 years and has trained several of my own dogs. I told her, "If there is a trainer who can help Maverick, it’s Dan." Dan did not disappoint! After two weeks of board and train for Maverick, I met my daughter at the Academy today with my two dogs, which Maverick had not yet met. Dan facilitated a greeting and interaction between them, and it went even better than we could have hoped for. It was important for our entire family to spend time together, and that includes our dogs. Dan has made that possible for us. I cannot thank Dan and Colorado Dog Academy enough for helping us get on the right path with our pack. We will be forever grateful.
