Kyle BeattySo my perspective is influenced by 6 years in Germany, but I would say overall, Edelweiss is pretty dang good. This was one of he few places in the States (restaurant, especially) where I could find a Kellerbier style beer, and the Weihenstephaner on tap was very good. The pre-meal roll (brötchen) was mediocre at best--very dry and lacking anything satisfying. The gulasch, on the other hand, once I got past the surprise of it not being served as a stew, was actually very delicious, and the spätzle was also quite good. The setting/ambience of the place I'd give a 7.5/10 as far as authenticity. As far as the service goes, no complaints -- they were super lovely. Overall, I'd recommend it.

Our server was incredibly friendly and we planned a return trip during our first visit. I’d recommend reservations, it seems to fill up.
AJ FreemanThis is an awesome restaurant!!! I always enjoy coming here for lunch or dinner after riding the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The waitstaff I had this evening were very polite and on top of their game. I am able to have a leisurely German meal every time I come here. Micaela is very polite and helpful. The food is delicious and always enjoyable one of my favorite dishes is the Hungarian Goulash. The atmosphere is very quaint and authentic. I feel like I am in Germany without having to get on an airplane. I always order the Black Forest Torte to top off every meal and it is delicious. I also enjoyed the very hearty Käsespätzle with ham and it was delicious as well.

Phil took great care of us, providing beer and food recommendations, as well as recognized our anniversary. The service from him was top notch. My wife had the wienerschnitzel, which was crisp and thin and the fried potatoes. I had the sauerbraten with the fried potatoes and red cabbage. The red cabbage and the sauerbraten was some of the best I have ever had! Finally, we wrapped up the dinner with a Black Forest torte and a lemon torte. I highly recommend the Black Forest torte! A wonderful experience and when I am in Colorado Springs again I will definitely return here for dinner.
