We had an exceptionally good dentist for a number of years, but he retired because of back issues. We found Peterborough Smiles Dental Centre and we have been going there for the last 8 to 10 years. Dr Lau is an exceptional dentist and has looked after my and my wife’s teeth. I gave a five star rating because they are a five star dental clinic.

The hygienist treated this client terribly. The secretary had no respect for the fact that the people in the waiting room can hear what you are saying to clients. He was going to ask about a payment plan since the bill was much higher than expected but she kept harping on him that they need their money. He went in to pay off the rest of his bill on a different day and they said he owed $200 more than the last time he was in there. He will be changing dentists which apparently is ok with them since they said they would gladly send his file elsewhere. Not a good situation since they love John, the dentist. But I guess now money talks and customer service doesn't. Sorry but the family won't be back.

Dr Lau and his team have looked after our family for many years. They are welcoming, professional, great with children and overall a wonderful to deal with. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

Did not explain extra work or cost to my daughter, just did it. She had called ahead for costs as she's on a tight budget with a new baby, on maternity leave. Quite the shock to be charged over $150 more. An excuse of a new technician not knowing costs, not saying anything about things being extra, is not ok. It is not right for any business to do work without being clear that it's extra and the amount it will cost, asking the customer if they want it done based on information given. Bad business practice, generally not a legal practice. Zero stars.
