This hotel needs a major upgrade. First the positives: it’s clean; the carpets appear to be new; the front desk staff is very nice. However this hotel is very spartan and dark and dingy and looks like it hasn’t been updated in 30 or more years. Barely any furniture. Bathrooms are not made for elderly or people with any physical limitations. Mattresses are horrible. Bedding is very old. Breakfast is very minimal. Price was far too high for what you’re getting. Should be priced more like $125-150 a night. Instead of $100-175 more than that (even off season). Photos online very deceptive. Somehow the reviews are better than the nearby Charlevoix Inn but that hotel is ten times better than this one (I’ve stayed there many times and never had any issue).

The room was good, bathroom was clean, but the Hotel needs some TLC as a previous reviewer said. The white bedspread was clean, but worn. We were on the 1st floor and the outside strom window was cracked from top to bottom, but not the inside window. The staff was helpful in that the desk clerk got me some cold milk from the breakfast area that evening. Breakfast was good: eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. The one review I read was very helpful in that you need to use the Church Entrance; otherwise you will pass the hotel. Not a problem though.

The staff was great and even allowed us to check in a couple hours early (we were in town for a wedding). The complimentary breakfast was very good too. However, the hotel needs some serious updating. The carpet on the steps is worn with tears and everything in general looks worn and a little dirty. We paid $300 for one night (Labor Day weekend) and at that price it was a huge disappointment. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 is because I took into consideration the normal price is less than half of what we paid on the holiday weekend.

Not sure why it had some terrible reviews over the 2 pot holes(1 not in their jurisdiction) and a couple of other issues but pretty good for a 2 star hotel. Breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and waffles among others. Only have to watch for the pot hole in their driveway and the one out front joined with the church driveway. Other than that the windows could ulbe replaced as they are old and weathered with some cracks. Again, this isn't a 5 star hotel in Beverly Hills. It's a quaint place just outside of Charlevoix where it's quiet. Good for the money we paid for a 2 day stay. Shoutout to the cleaning lady who checked my room before I left and brought me my powerbank I left plugged into the wall.
