Customer experiences
Avoid. Caused me a subsequent breakdown. Last support worker there no use at all. Kept taking photos of my room only. Even when I was progressing with external courses etc. Not intetested apparently. Crumbs on the kitchen surface! My goodness. Crumbs in the kitchen?! Other residents did nothing round the house. Empty pizza boxes left etc and no emptying bins. May seem like small gripes but in the end I'm glad I was given the "move on" eviction. Now with an empathic housing association with tailored needs and reasonable adjustments applied. Please go through the wondrtful SIFA Fireside and BCC housing officer to find suitable accommodation for those deemed "medium to high risk" tenant. An appalling derogatory label to be tagged with. There IS help out there for people like me and aorganisation with human empathy I have now also secured part time emptyment in line with UC limitations
Safe, Supportive, and Well-Run Accommodation As an autistic adult, having structure, safety, and clear communication is important to me. Crossroads has provided all of that since I moved in, and it has made a real difference during a difficult period in my life. The accommodation is well-managed with a clear zero-tolerance policy on drugs, abuse, and violence, which helps create a calm and secure environment. I meet regularly with my support worker, Cyisha, who is consistent, understanding, and professional. Knowing that I can reach out to Crossroads at any time and receive a prompt response gives me added reassurance. Overall, Crossroads has provided the right kind of support and stability I need to move forward, and I appreciate the way the service is run.
To their little rebuttal down below I yes I used AI to organise the information but all of the information is directly from my experience, authentic and true. I would be willing to regard them as the single most difficult organisation I have ever dealt with. While no I never did become a client of this organization my interactions with them, attempting to secure accommodation was horrific. First of all—if you're in a position where you even need to deal with organizations like this in the first place, I’m truly sorry. Steer WELL Clear of Crossroad Housing if you are young, vulnerable, or on Universal Credit. This organization presents itself as a provider of supported housing for those in financial difficulty. But based on my experience, they are the complete opposite of what they claim to be. They advertise as working with young people—often estranged, at-risk, or transitioning from homelessness—yet their actual expectations are wildly unrealistic and deeply out of touch with the realities of life on Universal Credit. They expect clear, fixed financial commitments before your Universal Credit has even been transferred over, despite the fact that no one on UC can know exactly what they’ll receive until the claim updates to reflect the new housing situation. It’s like they’ve built their entire intake process around people with stable incomes—then dressed it up as a safety net for those in need. If you're not able to provide financial certainties upfront (and who can, in these circumstances?), they label you “unclear,” refuse to move forward with you, and shut the door—coldly and dismissively. Worse, they deliberately withhold key financial information until deep in the referral process. For example, the “service charge” isn’t clearly explained on their adverts; it's buried later, without straightforward breakdowns. Even when I asked them yes/no questions—like “Is the £80 fee on top of the £100 rent?”—they gave vague, non-answers. Their communications were consistently confusing and evasive. They promise the world in their adverts—“support,” “understanding,” “transitional housing”—but what they actually deliver is a disjointed, cold, and alienating experience that leaves already-vulnerable people worse off. This entire process was emotionally exhausting, confusing, and demoralizing. Instead of helping me take a step forward, they’ve forced me to restart my housing search in a desperate financial situation, under extreme pressure and distress. Organizations like this should be held to higher standards—not only because of who they claim to serve, but because of the devastating impact they have when they fail to live up to those promises. Avoid this place. You deserve better.
The house I stayed in was really nice and my support worker was very helpful and supportive. The house was well maintained and kept clean and the residents were nice and the area felt safe. I would recommend.
