Another fantastic meal, they went above and beyond for my wife's birthday. Only minor feedback would be the delay in recieving the cups of tea after our meal.We both had the Venison and it was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully, the desserts were absolutely divine, we will be dinning with you on a regular basis as it is hard to find quality food and ambience. The staff welcomed us and our 1 year old and we felt truly welcome at all times unlike may of the larger chain restaurants. The value for money was amazing if we could give more than 5 stars we honestly would. A massive thank you to the chefs and all the team at Da Costa
The food is absolutely delicious ignore the 1 star party pooper! I had the beetroot risotto and a phenomenal apple strudel that was so delicious I nearly forgot the photograph. Like a recent reviewer I wish this was on my doorstep. Very child friendly. Service was stretched a bit thin though.
I've been to this place before in its previous incarnation and it was really good food and wanted to go back when I was visiting friends who live in Bruton and hadn't been. It's a lovely location and well designed and a lot of thought has gone into the place. We arrived early so went for a cocktail, in the nice little bar they have. Sadly I think the barman was new so the drinks took over 20 minutes to make and he was having to read the recipe for what we had asked for off the menu. It wasn't busy and he didn't have any manager or others to help him so he was clearly floundering with the couple of orders that he had. The restaurant is lovely and the staff, on the whole are fine. We had the charcuterie between the 3 of us as a starter which was lovely and a really good sized portion and selection of pickles and meats. We each had a pasta, and then shared a pudding between us along with a nice bottle of wine. I had the lamb ragu sauce which was very intense flavours of lamb which was good but it was pretty one dimensional, lamb and that was it. The tiramisu was great and well worth getting and again a really good sized portion as well. When we were getting the bill we asked one of the waiters for it and it never turned up. We then asked one of the staff who was next to us with a green top on who I think was maybe bar staff for the bill because we'd been waiting for a while and he said " oh get the bill, I suppose that's my job now " . I appreciate people have different jobs in the restaurant but this seemed quite the response to a totally reasonable request. The bill came to £70 per person which given we shared starters and pudding seems like a lot of money. Not sure I'd go back to be honest
Italian style/interpreted food in a beautiful setting. Really welcoming interior, spacious, art everywhere, and extremely open plan kitchens with friendly and professional service. We all had freshly made pasta and as a started, ricotta filled squash blossoms- using local ingredients to replicate Italian classics worked well Desserts were a fig pannacotta which was good but the ricotta cake was fantastic. Good selection of wines (£30 bottle and above) and a really good kids menu too.
