Thank you Denham Springs Antique Village for my perfect Mother-Daughter Afternoon! ($50 all in) This afternoon my daughter and I went to Downtown Denham for a Girls Day. My daughter played on the wooden train and got a handcrafted root beer at Le Chien Brewing Company where she said hello to Shadow. $3.50 plus tax for soda, dog pets free. After that we went to Brush Fire Art where she painted a zebra ornament. Took about 25 minutes and cost $14 plus tax. We will pick up the fired piece in roughly 2 weeks. Next we hit Mayfield's Mercantile for a mixed bag of wacky gummy candy to take home. We picked tree frogs, pizza slices, fried eggs, swirled fish, chicken feet & starfish. My daughter also got a complimentary bag of popcorn and ride on their antique mechanical horse. $9.99plus tax for 1/2 lb of wacky gummies. Walked across the street for a visit to Cavalier House Books. We enjoyed the children's section, found out about their story time, next one is Sunday November 16th at 1pm! My daughter had a blast and bought a new book. $8.00 plus tax. By this time Mustard Seed Creamery had opened at 3:00pm. We shared a scoop of strawberry ice-cream for $3.50 plus tax. For $39 plus tax, so roughly $50. My daughter and I got a hand painted keepsake, 1/2 lb. of wild gummy candy, handcrafted root beer, popcorn, a mechanical horse ride, a book, and ice cream. Plus we saw dogs, played on a wooden train, looked at all the window paintings, the Christmas decorations at the train depot and at the Denham Springs Old City Hall We walked down the alley next to Cavalier to the parking lot and pretended it was a secret tunnel. (Yes, I loudly sang 'Secret Tunnel' from Avatar last Airbender) For how expensive the world is today I'm pretty sure $50 for an afternoon that amazing with my child was a steal.

Denham Springs Antique Village is like stepping into a time machine—except instead of buttons and flashing lights, it smells like old books, polished wood, and sweet nostalgia. You don’t just shop here—you wander. One minute you’re looking at vintage glassware, the next you’re holding a 1960s Elvis lamp you suddenly can’t live without. The shop owners are friendly, welcoming, and full of stories that are almost as good as the treasures they sell. Whether you’re a serious collector or just out for a Saturday stroll, there’s something here for everyone—quirky finds, one-of-a-kind pieces, and that joyful moment when you realize you’ve found the perfect thing you weren’t even looking for. It’s Southern charm, small-town hospitality, and a treasure hunt all rolled into one. Five stars, and an extra gold star if you manage to leave without buying at least one thing you didn’t plan on. 🛍️✨
