Robert RadfordHad a superb meal at The Grand Village Imperial. We were staying at the premier inn across the retail park so was nice and convenient. The food was really good and exceeded our expectations. We had a dim sum sharer for 2, aromatic duck and pancakes plus 2 mains and all were really nice, served quickly and hot. My wife and I agreed it was one of the best Chinese meals we have had in a very long time. Would definitely go back if in the area. Thank you
MartinSept 24: We had a lovely meal in a nice busy atmosphere. My wife and I were offered a booth which seats 4 which is a nice change as this is not the norm in our experience. The drinks are not cheap £13 for two pints of Thai Singha. The food was all very nice and the service was very efficient and quick even though the place was busy, it was Saturday night. My only criticism, and I have a real issue with this, as we eat out a lot and it's becoming the norm, is the service charge. In what other industry is a charge implemented without choice. I know it can be rejected and we often do, but it is just not correct in my opinion. The staff wages should be covered as is each overhead by the profit from the food and drink, if this is not the case then adjust your pricing structure. A tip is left, in my opinion, when staff go over and above to add to your enjoyable experience. I pay for the food, and then choose to pay a tip if service merits one, and at an amount which I decide !!!! Rant over.....we will return for sure, but never pay the SC.
Kim MonaghanThe dishes were dirty, and we didn’t receive any apology. The waiter just said he would inform the kitchen, but he didn’t. We weren’t offered any form of compensation, not even a small discount—but they tried to charge us 10% of service charge. Definitely not coming back to this restaurant.
Lego SellerProper Chinese venue with bountiful, filling portions presented on tables with turntables. Suggest that groups choose 1 dish per person and share the lot. The staff are very attentive and the restaurant is well furnished and pleasant to dine in. Would happily recommend and come again, we were a party of 8 going for lunch on a Fri, and we were served quickly.
