To the entire staff of Sanadent and anyone reading this review: If you are trying to decide if this is the right clinic/doctor for you and your loved ones, then this review is for you. I chose this clinic over others because of its comprehensive services. I have been coming to Medellin for several years for treatment for myself and my family. As my needs changed, I needed a dentist who was both recognized and able to perform work in a timely manner with a clean facility. What caught my attention was the "one-stop shop" aspect of the clinic: the first floor houses the X-ray room, the second floor is the clinic, and the third floor contains the laboratory. This setup facilitated having all necessary elements under one roof, supervised by the same doctor ensuring the quality of the products and work. I received a quote for the required work over WhatsApp, and after several discussions and questions about the best procedures for my situation, the staff provided various solutions and budgets, explaining the pros and cons of each option. We eventually agreed on a plan and set specific dates for my arrival and departure. I had previously consulted my dentist locally, but the cost was three times higher, there was a month-long wait for an appointment, and the only available option would need to be redone after 8 to 10 years I needed something permanent. My dental insurance only covers basic necessities, would cover a bridge not an implant which led me to seek treatment in Colombia once again. When I arrived at Sanadent, the quote they provided matched exactly what was communicated over the phone. They maintained a full schedule to perform each procedure and accommodated me even when I was running late. Every day upon arrival, I was greeted by the front staff with a genuine smile the kind of smile you get from happy employees. A sweet elderly lady janitor offered coffee or hot tea while we waited and kept the clinic very clean SPOTTLESS. Dr. Sebastian greeted ALL patients with a handshake as a show of gratitude and thanked us for waiting amazing hospitality. During my implant treatment, Dr Sebastian shared a reassuring story that helped calm my nerves. The procedure was completed efficiently and painlessly, much like observing a master chef adeptly and swiftly chop with a knife, demonstrating their extensive experience. Similarly, my implants were expertly completed. On another day, I had 4 root canals performed by another specialist who was professional and efficient. Dr Sebastian chooses his team wisely. Dr. Tatiana, who managed my teeth cleaning, cavity treatment, and replacement of metal fillings, demonstrated meticulous attention to detail. She was courteous, understanding, and highly knowledgeable. Her thorough approach made me feel like a valued patient under her care. I had an appointment at the same time as Mr. Michael Epstein, and I respectfully disagree with his negative review. I understand reviews can vary significantly based on individual perceptions however It is never acceptable to yell at a professional or anyone when you disagree. This seems to be a pattern for this gentleman if you look at his other reviews; he doesn't like coffee shops, gyms, etc. His reviews show complete disrespect for the hard work it takes to run any business. In the near future, I plan to add more specifics for those who may find them helpful. I strive to present an objective account, accurately reflecting what others might hesitate to share. TO DR. SEBASTIAN: I chose to terminate my treatment at your clinic due to unmet clinical and professional expectations. Dr. Sebastian, I was particularly taken aback by your rude, dismissive, and temperamental behavior when I declined a handshake. During treatment, repeated clinical errors caused delays, escalated costs, and led to subpar results. Excessive force likely contributed to adhesive failures, while poor preparation wasted significant time. Why were you unwilling to consider alternative clinical opinions to improve my care? American clinicians who reviewed my case identified errors immediately without guidance. Given this, your handshake felt insincere. Neither you nor your staff acknowledged limitations in skills or operations—no apologies were ever offered, as if accountability were beneath you. TO CLERICAL STAFF: Under Colombian law, medical records must be provided promptly. A delay of over three months is unacceptable despite repeated requests. TO RADIOLOGY: Your team was skilled, friendly, and efficient—a rare bright spot in this clinic. TO MEDICAL TOURISTS & FOREIGNERS: Having visited Medellín over 44 times, I’ve learned where to find better orthodontic and periodontal care. While this clinic has its pros and cons, my experience suggests caution. I plan to refine and update this review with detailed insights and recommendations on when to seek care elsewhere. The overwhelmingly positive reviews do not reflect my experience accurately. =========================== == REPLY to Sanadent’s Response == The unannounced switch of doctors was unprofessional - I had no idea it was happening until I sat beneath a new face. I was not completely satisfied with the previous care. Dra was sweet, but kept ignoring a significant treatment concerns; one concern of orthodontic error, proved to this day an issue, over a year later. I shake my head in disbelief that “Sanadent cares.” My messages with concerns over 12 months were largely ignored, sometimes repeated without reply for 2-3 months. Recently I was told treatment concerns are not addressed via WhatsApp, yet this has been their primary communication method. Sanadent also failed to fulfill record requests for months beyond the legal timeframe, and some records are still incomplete or missing. Perhaps this is because recordkeeping is incomplete. One x-ray procedure has no documentation of purpose, had no notes at all until six months later when I confronted them about it. Still, no outcome or follow-up advised. They provide information in piecemeal over a period of months - this is not compliance. Overall treatment was done improperly, incompletely, and with increased costs as a result.
