We went with DesignWithin for our 3BHK in the 2nd half of 2022. We initially had a lot of design discussions with Mr. Ashish. After finalizing DesignWithin, we got to know that the design is handled by Mrs. Rupa, and the execution is handled by Mr.Ashish. 2D Design: We had to repeat the same design discussions with Rupa, and she came up with some pretty good designs. Although getting a reply from her was quite a challenge, it's strange when you are the client paying 1 lakh for just the design and not getting any response. 3D Design: After paying for the 2D Designs, the 3D designing started. The entire process was rushed. They came up with some good 3D renders but we were not consulted in the selection of paint colors and laminates for the 3D designs. When we asked for the paint color to be changed, they said 3D designs cannot be redone because they outsource it to another company. It was such a challenge to get a response from Mrs. Rupa that we started doubting whether or not we had made the right decision going with DesignWithin. We eventually decided to ramp down our requirements and get the least possible interior work done from DesignWithin. We had a 2-month deadline to finish the work, so we made all the payments. Execution: Execution started quickly, and the work was completed before the deadline. It was a new building with a lot of interior work in every flat. We met a lot of interior designers who visited the site almost daily. The only site without a supervisor was ours. Mr. Ashish only ever showed up at the site for taking payments. The electrician made so many mistakes that the false ceiling had to be broken and redone. Now our false ceiling is uneven in 2 bedrooms. Many times, I had to take half day leaves from my work to make the electrician understand the requirement. While finalizing the painter, Design Within came up with a quotation of 78k for luster. I got it done from another painter for 54k using Aspira paint which is 2-levels above luster. Eventually, I myself had to compare the designs and the actual work. The locker planned in the wardrobe was not done, and a lot of internal laminate had been chipped off. We started pointing out the many problems, and Mr. Ashish's justification was that, this wasn't his best team of carpenters. The entire quotation was based on the fact that all the hardware used would be Hettich. After taking all the payments as per estimates meant for Hettich, Mr.Ashish pushed us to go for Hepo for all the hydraulic hardware. We later realized that Hettich Hydraulics is 2-3 times more expensive than Hepo. Within 6-months, the slider door of the wardrobe worth more than a lakh is broken and not closing. Inside many cabinets, external wooden laminate was used instead of white internal laminate. After all these immense cost cuttings and compromises, Mr. Ashish still demanded an additional difference-amount to be paid for laminates, denying to entertain us any further until we did so. Even after making so many complaints about the work, Mr. Ashish did not have the sense of ownership about his work to at least visit the site. All our conversations happened entirely over phone. One such example was when I told him that the TV unit was supposed to not have any legs as per design, but he justified by saying that the TV-unit was given legs because the wall behind was made of Siporex, and that the unit would fall off without them. But in reality, the wall behind the TV unit was a strong external wall, and the wall behind my legless shoe rack was Siporex. So a shoe rack 3-times the size, was made on a Siporex wall without legs. Once the entire ordeal was done, you at the very least expect the site to be cleaned so that you can move in but the carpenters had their train tickets booked to their hometown. We had to hire cleaners ourselves. We are glad that we at least took the decision to cut down our interior requirements by half, because for DesignWithin, it was all about churning out more and more profit from the client.

Awesome design by this duo. They did my row bungalow which turned out beyond my expectations. Their teamwork is superb and they always use to come up with unique ideas and touch of difference is in all work....makes it feel complete

After the thorough evaluation of six vendors, we chose Design Within to help us build the new facility for the following reasons: 1) prompt response to the query, 2) easy communication and 3) good understanding of the requirements. We are happy that we have chosen the right partner for the work. Overall, the project has been well executed despite of the significant amount of work required in the short timeline. ~ 3000-square feet space is well designed to meet various requirements of our operations.
