I'm sure these folks are fine designers, but they're lousy communicators and we spent $5K on their services with little to show for it. Asked to present us with three design options within provided guidelines, we received one such option and two others that, in addition to bearing little resemblance to our request, were either ungainly or impractical. We are new to home renovation and remodeling and made this clear to Scott, the principal. Instead of listening to us, he winged it. Instead of asking us questions, he inserted his own assumptions. As we reviewed what we'd been given, we handed over the second half of our $5K payment. But we knew that we hadn't gotten what we asked for. As it turns out, our dissatisfaction was our own fault because our request was not sufficiently precise, according to Scott. There would be no do-overs. No additional work was done, at least none that we saw. We cancelled, but his accounting staff came up with reasons why the second half of our $5K had already, somehow, been consumed. I'm sure it all makes sense to a pro.
