Customer experiences
We shipped DHL Express from Asia since it was an urgent package. It arrived in Canada and we were not notified. I got an email from the shipper that duties and taxes ($23) was not paid so their policy is to send it back. Chatted with someone on their website to be told they left a message. We have an automated switchboard, you can't leave messages. They didn't even attempt to deliver the package and collect the fees on the spot (much like other carriers do). DHL is useless unless you enjoy grief and working with a company that is stuck in the 80's. Doesn't surprise me why their reviews are brutal.
DHL is an absolute disaster! After they told me my package was on hold by CBSA, I decided to contact CBSA myself—only to find out that they actually had my package. To clear things up, I went there in person in the morning, and the employees assured me that my package was there and I could pick it up around 5 PM. But when I returned in the afternoon? Everything changed. Suddenly, they were back to their old script, trying to tell me—again—that CBSA was holding my package, even though I had already confirmed otherwise. It was like dealing with a company that thrives on gaslighting its customers! On top of that, they want me to cough up $400 for a tiny box? Absolute robbery! I’ve been trying to stay professional, but at this point, I’m seriously considering legal action against this so-called shipping company. DHL is nothing but a fake, overpriced scam preying on customers with zero accountability!
I paid for express service so my order would arrive before the weekend. As soon as it reached Canada, it sat there because “no workers were available to open their freight.” Ridiculous. Two different agents told me I could drive to the service point to pick it up the same day—after wasting my time driving there, I was told they couldn’t even access the packages. Completely disorganized. To make it worse, this delivery required a signature. The driver showed up, dropped the package, and left without even giving me the chance to sign. What kind of service is this? Absolutely unacceptable.
Fed Up – Package Missing, No Support, and DHL Refuses to Say Who Has It I have never been this disappointed with a shipping company. My package has been delayed for days. According to DHL, it was handed off to a third-party delivery provider, but they refuse to tell me who that company is, how to contact them, or when I can expect delivery. I’ve reached out repeatedly — and every single time I get the same copy-paste response telling me to “check the tracking page.” The tracking page hasn’t updated in days. It’s useless. I asked very clearly for one thing: Who has my package? Their response: “We cannot disclose that information.” Excuse me? You took my money, accepted my shipment, and now you’re telling me that a mystery company has it and I just have to sit here and wait — no contact, no accountability, no updates? To make it worse, DHL isn’t even taking phone calls. Every time I call I get a recorded message saying they’re not accepting phone support due to a labour disruption. So now I’m stuck in an endless loop of emails where they give me the runaround and refuse to take ownership. This is not just frustrating — it’s shady. I’m beyond patient at this point. You handed off my shipment to someone else, and I have no way to contact them, no idea who they are, and no timeline for delivery. That’s unacceptable. I paid for DHL. Not for you to pass the package to some unnamed third party and wash your hands of it. I want real answers: – Who has my package? – What’s their contact info? – When will I get my delivery? – Why is DHL refusing to be transparent? Other people are going through the same thing, and the only place DHL even responds seems to be public reviews like this — so here I am. Fix this.
