Michael and Curtis have created a kitchen space that is way beyond any initial expectations I had. I asked for mid century modern - and they delivered in spades. Their design process is invigorating and educational - they provided me with options, looks and textures that I never would have thought of. Another ask of mine was to give me a kitchen that also worked as a gallery for artwork I've been collecting over the years. What they dreamed up is truly unique - and give my home a nice artistic center-piece (and inspiration for future work to other areas of the house). Thanks, guys! The kitchen is a work of art in and of itself.

I hired DorianBahr/Dorian Development in September 2017 for a complete home renovation, including re-configuring the kitchen and renovating 3 bathrooms. Their designs were good. Their tile and color selections were satisfactory. However, I found out 2 months later they hadn't filed any city permits. Then, after they did file a permit on 12/5, they told the city it was a Bathroom remodel. I terminated them 12/29/17 after finding out the plumbing in my kitchen and bathrooms had failed inspection. The steam unit they installed was in backwards without proper clearance. The plumbing they rerouted in my kitchen didn't drain properly and piping was too small. One of my new bathroom toilets leaked visibly for nearly a month. The shower they built looked great but they failed to put in a shower liner; so, if you turned on the water in that shower it ran straight out the side of the house and into the garage. After paying them over $78K...I've spent thousands to have their work corrected. I’ve renovated 5 homes prior to this with no issues; this was the worst renovation experience of my life. Almost every year after this renovation, I’ve experienced additional issues that traced back to their poor work. My kitchen sink drain was installed incorrectly. Two of my bathroom faucets weren’t mounted improperly. One of the sinks in my master bathroom was defective and began leaking. My tub drain in the guest bathroom wasn’t installed correctly causing premature corrosion. I had a leak in my kitchen wall because they used incorrect parts on the waterline to the refrigerator. Every pierce of plumbing they touched has had to be repaired or replaced. It’s 2025 now, I think I’ve finally found/fixed everything they did wrong.

We came to Dorian Bahr with ideas for a kitchen remodel - we saw some pictures of their work and liked their style. We wanted to completely change our kitchen layout, open a structural wall, and update with more modern finishes and appliances. What started as a kitchen remodel quickly turned into a much larger job that included flooring, adding a wet bar, fireplace updates, light fixtures throughout the home, and paint throughout. The Dorian team put a lot of effort into planning and drawing layout options, which gave me comfort knowing that things would be well thought out and contractors wouldn't get confused and make their own assumptions. We had several meetings before work commenced, some at the house and some at their office where they have lots of material samples. It became a good mix of their ideas and some of our own, and we were able to make the whole house look great and to our personal taste. I think Dorian's material suggestions were awesome, and they were really good at taking our ideas and making them fit with the existing design of the home. The overall project - from design to completion - took a little bit longer than expected but it was worth the wait. The house turned out awesome and the whole Dorian team was great to work with.
