I stopped in here for breakfast literally because it is trip advisor's #2 pick for "best breakfast in orillia". This diner has a lot going for it. The atmosphere is typical diner, exactly as it should be. The waitstaff are absolutely the friendliest, and they could teach most other waiters a thing or two about how to do the job. They are friendly, prompt, attentive, and kept my coffee filled! The food was all well cooked, and would have been great except for one snag. I ordered the eggs Benedict, and expected a traditional hollandais sauce. Their hollandais sauce comes heavily flavoured with dill. Dill hollandais is a common variation, especially popular when fish is substituted for the meat, but it is not the typical standard and you wouldn't expect to get it unless you asked for it. Unfortunately for me, like about half the population, i do not care for dill, and so this really affected my ability to enjoy the meal. I wish they had offered a non-dill option, or atleast warned me on the menu that the hollandais contained dill, so that i could have ordered something else. Aside from that snag, i would highly recomend the friend's diner for breakfast. Their burgers looked very good too.

The food is always delicious! The staff are super friendly and diligent about getting your order right - especially if you have food allergies. They also are genuinely concerned about you if they haven’t seen you in a while - living up to the name of the diner, treating you like a friend. Check their Facebook page as they often post their weekly special list. Favs include breakfast (can choose to have home fries done on the grill or deep fried as well as add sautéed onions and peppers), Chicken Club, Philly beefsteak, Indian Tacos, Egg salad on a Croissant.

Always love stopping at this spot when in Orillia. Decent breakfast, classic foods. Great service and always easy to get a spot! We will be back.

We ate Philly Cheesesteak with Greek and Caesar salads, and my daughter had Chicken Fingers with fries. They were delicious! The service was good, provided by the owners. The prices are worth it.
