I visited Bite Dental Center (formerly TMJ Annapolis) on April 22, 2025, seeking relief from chronic TMJ issues that have significantly impacted my quality of life. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment but was not seen until 20 minutes after my scheduled time. When I was finally brought back to the patient room, the assistant asked for TMJ-specific paperwork, which I explained I had never received. She left and returned with the forms for me to complete while seated in the dental chair. After filling them out, the doctor entered and provided a basic explanation of TMJ—information I was already familiar with—before stating I would receive a cost estimate. At no point during the visit did the doctor perform a physical examination or even ask me to open my mouth. The doctor spoke with me for approximately 10–15 minutes and then left. After another 10-minute wait, I was taken to the office manager, whom I believe identified herself as Diane. She presented me with a quote of $8,396.00 for an orthotic appliance and associated costs. When I expressed the need to review the cost, she informed me that the 60-minute consultation would cost $175. I explained that the face-to-face time was not 60 minutes and that I had spoken with my insurance company prior to the visit. They informed me that they covered the initial consultation and would need procedure codes to determine coverage for treatment. Diane explained that due to the recent name change from TMJ Annapolis to Bite Dental Center, the office was still in the process of being accepted by my insurer. She said she would submit the claim once they were officially in-network and that, if not accepted, the visit would be written off. Despite this, on May 14, 2025, I received a bill for $175. When I called to speak with Diane, I was told by Michelle at the front desk that Diane was no longer with the practice. I asked to speak with the current office manager, but after being placed on hold multiple times, I was told the manager was unavailable and would call me back. I never received a follow-up. Michelle acknowledged that there should not be an issue with insurance related to the office name change, which only added to the confusion and frustration. This experience was deeply disappointing. I left without any meaningful examination, guidance, or treatment plan—only a sales pitch and a $175 bill. I expected a professional evaluation for a serious medical issue, not a rushed visit followed by poor communication and an unexpected charge. I would strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere—where transparency, professionalism, and patient care are prioritized.

THE OFFICE ADDRESS IS WRONG! If they can not even properly update their office address on Google maps AND their website then something is wrong with this office. They are disorganized. I had an appointment for a consultation about TMJ. I drove the "old" Ridgely address that is listed on the website and the Google business profile......THIS IS THE WRONG ADDRESS. I didn't find that out until more than 15 minutes after my appointment since I had been walking around trying to find the office. Thank you for wasting my time and my day - not providing patients with the correct address is just rude and inconsiderate.

Dr. Rahman is by far the best dentist/surgeon I have ever worked with! She is knowledgeable, caring and patient. My elderly mother had to have extensive surgeries and many implants placed and she had amazing results. Dr. Rahman’s practice uses state of the art technology and she is clearly very up to date with the literature of her specialty. Her staff is well trained and very nice and I enjoy the friendly jokes and family-feeling atmosphere in her office. Many of my family members have had significant dental issues so visits to the dentist had always been stressful until we found this practice. Highly recommend it!
