Jake at Melrose Realty, I am writing to express my disappointment in the way our tenancy was handled after living in a Melrose property for the past eight years. After nearly a decade of paying rent on time and maintaining the property, we were given a 30-day notice to vacate with no explanation or support. Despite our long-standing relationship and respectful communication, this decision was sudden and has caused unnecessary stress to our family. What’s even more upsetting is that we have not received our security deposit, nor have we been given an explanation of any deductions or a timeline for return. According to Oklahoma rental laws, landlords are required to return a tenant’s deposit — or provide a written statement of any charges — within 45 days of move-out. It has now been well beyond that period. We are requesting immediate action to resolve this matter: A full refund of our security deposit, or A detailed written explanation of any deductions We trusted Melrose Realty and expected professional treatment in return. At the very least, we deserve honesty and fair handling of our deposit but they said we owe them 7,000 and that was b******* and after the third day you late on the 4th day you owe $200 and each day that you're late they add on $60 a day we have been late but we had to pay that late fee and we always did I'm not telling you not to rent for Melrose that's your decision but be careful and do not trust Melrose realtor and Vanessa that works there she was over bookkeeper now she's in maintenance she is the biggest liar you will ever meet I don't hope nothing bad go to anyone or happen to anyone but if anything bad happened to those people there I can't say i am sorry for them.say --

charges monthly fees for maintenance, but then when you put in a request they just send you instructions on how to fix it yourself and then cancel the work order. Additionally, when I moved in they gave me keys to someone elses house. They didnt clean up after the previous tenant before moving me in as well, and I had to wait an additional two days to move in. i would avoid leasing from the company in the future

Edit: “Melrose and its management staff care little about the experience they create for their tenants.” Since writing this review and bringing our issues to Melrose, they have taken many steps to become more responsive, It’s my understanding and experience that staff adjustments have improved the level of service quality. When we have an issue it is addressed and we are not left waiting and wondering what is going on.
