Well after a decent meal 2 days ago, it was disappointing to see our food when it came out of the kitchen, 3.30pm on a Monday afternoon, ordered 1 x fish, chips and mushy peas, 1 x classic burger and 1 x double burger. Fish swimming in grease, fryer oil needed changing as batter although crispy was darker than it should have been, Fries on both burger meals although just edible had been reheated as different colours on both plates. Then the burgers both had been over cooked on one side, yet still had been plated up, person eating double burger eats most things and was hungry, but just about managed to eat it, yet the single burger was like cardboard and was sent back, arrived a little while later looking better, but still not great, maybe it's because it's the end of the season, maybe the chef didn't want to be there. It does make sense why it was empty, as the place is lovely,let down by the standard of food.

We came for dinner, we did have to send food back but front of house staff were brilliant especially Dylan (you are amazing and a credit to your team) and Demi the Manager who was amazing and really helped us.

The day (16/08/2024) we arrived my son and I went for a drink while we were waiting for the rest of our family to arrive. There was only one person taking food orders at the bar and we waited nearly 15 minutes for another member of staff to serve us. That same evening we all went for dinner we waited over an hour for our food we went to enquire were our food was we ended up with some portions of chips cold, a burger was cold, portions of baked beans were dried out on the top and egg that was with the gammon was crispy all round the edge were the oil it was cooked in was too hot, it was also dripping in oil. When we complained it was obvious the burger and chips were heated up in the microwave because they were returned to quick to have been cooked again. On the Sunday we booked a table for 4 o'clock to have the roast dinner. We got there a little before 4 o'clock the Sunday menu was still on the table but when we asked for the roast dinner we were informed it had finished. The woman serving said it was on the menu that it finished at 4 o'clock we couldn't see anything on the menu stating this and when we asked her to point it out she couldn't as it was not there. So we finished our drinks and left another table of about 8 left as well. We did hear after that they had run out of meat about 2.30. But we did find 2 really good places to eat one in Bream called The Beachcomber (you can't book, busy but we'll worth a visit for Sunday Roast) the other is Brent House a little outside Burnham on the road to Weston. We could not believe how much the food and service had gone down hill since last year. We never bothered using it for the rest if our holiday.

I think their policy is only being your food out once you ask for a refund, because just by magic the moment you ask they bring out 1 item (out of 4). Waited an hour then asked for an ETA, the waitress said she would go see, went into the kitchen, and she was never to be seen again, when the place has very few tables occupied, hate to know what it's like when there are actually busy. The rest of the food did come out, but it was close to 10 mins later. Never did get the refund.
