Absolutely the worst of the worst. $185.00 for a closet; I couldn't even close the door without moving the bed! Take my shoes off?!🤬. No bathroom/shower in the room for this price? Room was hot as hell-open a window and you hear the loud stereo across the street. To all you fools who upped the ratings by giving this place additional stars, you are out of your minds.
I booked a one-night stay in Rimouski through for me and my 60-year-old mom on our Canada Day trip to Percé. I went out briefly for dinner while she stayed inside the rental to rest. Out of nowhere, the host showed up, claiming he hadn’t received payment and threaten to kick us out. She doesn’t speak French or English and was completely overwhelmed. I rushed back immediately and showed him proof that the payment had already gone through. He had to check with the booking platform to receive the money and he refused to listen and kept insisting I pay again. His behavior was very aggressive, and the way he treated us felt very discriminatory( we are Asian and we don’t speak French very well). I believe racism was the main reason we were treated this way. Despite everything, he forced us to leave that same night. We were left out in the cold, rainy night with nowhere to go, over something that wasn’t even our fault. This experience completely ruined our vacation. I’ve been living in Canada for more than 10 years — 3 of those in Quebec — and this is the very first time I’ve ever been the victim of racism here. Please think twice before booking here. No one deserves to be treated like that — especially not tourists just trying to rest for one night.
Abso-lutely awful. Tiny room the size of a closet, hot as hell, couldn't close the door without moving g the bed. For $185, no bathroom or shower in the room, you have to remove your shoes on the porch. The. Worst
To be fair, this is just a dormitory, the owner is sympathetic, but some actions seems weird, some clients couldn't even take one more night in the dormitory, even thought some beds were empty at the night. He relocated them in hotel rooms that were costly, even with a discount offered by the owner. For some pros: You can leave whenever you want and come back at night. (Check in and last day aren't included) Towels are included, that is nice in travel. If you are socially able, you can meet really cool people. Everybody is respectful and didn't see any abusive behaviour in this dorm. Good dorm, but this is a dorm.
Espace Globetrotter is a hostel.
