Jaime Nelson is the standard to which all wedding planners should be held. From the start of our search for a wedding planner, we came across plenty of qualified candidates, but frequently ran into conditions which gave us pause. Some wedding planners only offer X amount of conversations leading up to the wedding, with any additional conversations costing an extra fee. Some wedding planners were so expensive you'd think you were looking at the price for a venue. And some wedding planners were just starting out on their journey - which is fine - but when you're putting a lot of time and money into a wedding located somewhere you don't live (as is the case for many Newport / Rhode Island weddings), you don't want to leave anything to chance. Jaime had none of these flaws: she was there for us day and night, all year long; her fee was very reasonable compared to today's market; and her experience combined with the connections she has cultivated over many years in the game meant that we were confident in her capabilities and her commitments. Jaime helped us understand what was realistic for our budget, gave us creative ideas to solve problems as they arose, and took the initiative when work with vendors was necessary. She was also admirably flexible with our particular goals and design ideas, and helped to make our vision a reality in a way that was as flawless as it was enjoyable. Working with Jaime, we never felt stressed out, despite the magnitude of moving pieces necessary to put everything together. On the contrary, we actually had a lot of fun planning with her. Jaime made us feel like every problem was solvable and that no request was too inconvenient. It's clear that she had a great team behind her, but with Jaime at the helm, it was all smooth sailing for my husband and I. As for the wedding day itself, Jaime was behind the scenes constantly making sure everything was running smoothly and on-time. Jaime was always 3 steps ahead of us, and she worked wonderfully with our photographer to make sure we had time for both photos and enjoying the party. We knew she was a standout, and our feelings were reaffirmed when we had our parents and friends come up to us and tell us how incredible she was the whole night.
