A few weekends ago, I tried to save a few bucks by hiring someone from TaskRabbit to help with a few light fixture changes. It turned out to be a big mistake. Not only did he remove the old fixtures and leave a mess of the wiring, but he also somehow disabled our back porch light—something we really rely on, especially for our dogs in the evening. It was a Saturday afternoon, and we knew we’d be paying a premium for emergency help, but at that point, we just needed it fixed, and fixed properly. We reached out to about 10 electricians, and Bob from Bob Doucett Electrician was one of the very few who actually responded. Not only did he respond—he was kind, upfront, and totally straightforward. He was able to come out that day, and his calm, professional approach immediately gave us peace of mind. Bob diagnosed the issue quickly and had everything working again in no time. He was also more than fair in his pricing, especially considering the timing and urgency. We ended up asking for his opinion on another issue we’re having with some wiring, and we fully plan to have him back to help us tackle that project soon. Bottom line: you truly get what you pay for. We just called Bob about a quick job removing and bypassing a fuse box that was no longer needed. Lucky for us he was on the neighbourhood just finishing a job and came right over. Job done in less than an hour. He’s professional and personable. We highly recommend Bob!

Bob saved the day! In an emergency, I needed a specific model of breaker from the 80s. We called around the entire province, and Bob took the time to search and call back when he found it.
