A few weekends ago, I tried to save a few bucks by hiring someone from TaskRabbit to help with a few light fixture changes. It turned out to be a big mistake. Not only did he remove the old fixtures and leave a mess of the wiring, but he also somehow disabled our back porch light—something we really rely on, especially for our dogs in the evening. It was a Saturday afternoon, and we knew we’d be paying a premium for emergency help, but at that point, we just needed it fixed, and fixed properly. We reached out to about 10 electricians, and Bob from Bob Doucett Electrician was one of the very few who actually responded. Not only did he respond—he was kind, upfront, and totally straightforward. He was able to come out that day, and his calm, professional approach immediately gave us peace of mind. Bob diagnosed the issue quickly and had everything working again in no time. He was also more than fair in his pricing, especially considering the timing and urgency. We ended up asking for his opinion on another issue we’re having with some wiring, and we fully plan to have him back to help us tackle that project soon. Bottom line: you truly get what you pay for. When it comes to electrical work—or any professional service that impacts the safety of your home—don’t cut corners. Bob is the real deal: skilled, reliable, and someone you feel good having in your home. I would unequivocally recommend Bob to anyone. We’re grateful for his help and relieved to have found someone we can trust.

We just called Bob about a quick job removing and bypassing a fuse box that was no longer needed. Lucky for us he was on the neighbourhood just finishing a job and came right over. Job done in less than an hour. He’s professional and personable. We highly recommend Bob!

Bob saved the day! In an emergency, I needed a specific model of breaker from the 80s. We called around the entire province, and Bob took the time to search and call back when he found it. Not only that, but he walked me through some troubleshooting over the phone the next day, and said to call again if needed. Can't write highly enough of Bob and the quality of his service: he is completely dependable, honest, and sticks to the established price. Bob is the only electrician we trust to work on our home. Bob was very responsive to a request for emergency service after a baseboard heater nearly caused a fire in our attic. He showed up within a few hours after we placed the call and removed the faulty line and heater. We had been aware of several other potential electrical issues in our home which we asked him to look at as well. Throughout that process, Bob brought our attention to several other safety concerns we were unaware of and rectified every one of them -- with no price increase at the end of the work. Bob provided sound advice and recommendations, notably on a breaker panel replacement we needed. We decided to proceed with the panel replacement and Bob prioritized our job over other installations due to his genuine concern for the safety of our home. Several months later we experienced an outage on several electrical outlets. Thinking there might be something wrong with wiring, we called Bob again. He called back within an hour and held a virtual consultation with us for free (and in the process educated us on what caused the problem and how to resolve it in the future). Should we need any further electrical work done in our home there's only one person we'll be calling: Bob Doucett! Thank you Bob for the outstanding work you've done for us.
