Expansive Therapy NY

this place is SPECIAL. was looking for someone deeper and wiser, not just a casual chat... all their therapists have a doctorate. I didn't know that would make a diff for me but it did. My therapist makes spot on interpretations and now I'm thinking about myself in a whole new way. Honestly, worth every penny. They have a very personalized therapist MATCHING process (love), and they manage insurance for you (above and beyond). Their office is a vibe too. What else are you looking for?

The office is beautiful and it’s incredibly easy to coordinate/communicate with the team. I didn’t want to write a review until I felt sure, and now I do. I came to Therapists of New York during a weird, floaty period of my life — not in full-blown crisis, but also definitely not okay. I was skeptical that anyone would really “get it” or that therapy could feel like anything other than just... talking in a room. What surprised me was how carefully the matching process worked. It didn’t feel algorithmic or clinical — more like being introduced to someone by a friend who knows you well. And my therapist? She’s not a cheerleader or a fixer (can get that from friends). She’s perceptive in that eerie, gently unsettling way that makes you feel more known than you expected to feel, and also safe enough to sit with whatever comes up. TNY isn’t flashy, and thank god for that. It feels intentional, solid, grounded. If you’re looking for therapy that isn’t one-size-fits-all, and a place that respects how personal and vulnerable this process is, I’d start here.
