I have had my gas combi-boiler serviced by Moordown Gas Services for the last 13 years. My previous bungalow had had a loft conversion and modernisation carried out. A cheap combi-boiler had been installed upstairs and the heating system used a mix of original iron radiators and pipework, modern steel radiators and copper and plastic pipework. The boiler suffered a number of problems with valves sticking, due to corrosion in the water, from the old iron radiators and pipework. Moordown carried out a power flush of the system to clear the rust and sludge. However, the recommended solution was to replace the old iron radiators and pipework with steel radiators and copper pipes. Moordown fitted a new combi-boiler with magnetic filter and replaced the old iron radiators and pipework. In carrying out this job they discovered a section of steel pipe in the loft space and recommended it was replaced by copper pipe. On removal, the steel pipe was found to be rusted and about to fail at a thin spot leading to a water leak in a remote part of the loft space. It was agreed that they would also replace iron hot and cold water pipes, running through the concrete floor, with copper pipes above floor level to remove the risk of corrosion and leaks. As a retired engineer, I am impressed by their knowledge and sound understanding of modern heating a TVnd water systems. The owner and staff of this business are friendly and helpful and show real ingenuity in solving tricky installation problems with skillfull work that only comes with experience. I do not hesitate to recommend Moordown Gas, as they are extremely competent, tidy in their work and also affordable in their estimates and billing.
