I'm a black girl with curly hair. Went to Phil by recommendation from a reddit user. Gave me exactly what I wanted. Phil is super nice, very personable, and attentive. He told me he does not have much experience cutting my hair type (3a/b/c), but he has experience cutting type 4. He checks in when he is about to do something and when he is done with something. He also has salon experience so when you're getting a cut, it's not just a fade. He takes time to scuplt the hair. 10/10 would recommend to other curly girls.
My son had his first haircut with Phil in November and we decided to wait to see how it grew in. He has thick curly hair and didn’t want then common teen cut of shaved sides. Phil is awesome! Friendly and engaging, he asked and listened to what my son wanted and 7 weeks later his hair still looks fantastic. His curls grew in beautifully, and easy for him to manage. We are back for our second cut and will be back for many more. Great barbershop!
