Poor and unorganized bedside manner with children. Staff kept entering the room without introducing themselves. I had to help with X-rays because the 2 staff couldn’t work with my very compliant 8 year old child. Dentist didn’t take all the X-rays needed and insisted I come back for a follow up in 1 week to take more X-rays (likely so she could bill for a second visit and more X-rays). Dentist prescribed antibiotics while admitting there was no sign of my daughter needing them (I did not fill the Rx). Referred us to a specialist, again with no sign of my daughter needing one. Mentioned that my daughter may need a root canal…but the explanation why made no sense and was condescending. I took her to a my personal dentist today who told me there’s no need for a specialist right now, surprised that no spatial xray was taken, was confused about both the antibiotics recommendation and root canal recc, and said follow up in 1 month. I’m so glad I went with my gut and got a second opinion. I went to family smiles because I thought they would be good with kids but instead I feel they are trying to bill the patient as much as possible. I didn’t give 1 star because the play structure was fun for my daughter and the front desk staff were lovely.
