An inconsistent experience. The first time I came here I loved it. I got my beard trim by the owner and I really liked the job he did. The trim included a hot towel prep and was in general above and beyond. So I booked again to make sure the booking is done with him. When I came he waved me at another guy and said he will take care of me (and promptly left). The other person was a lot less friendly and seemed to be in a hurry. He did give me a razor burn, which I don’t want to complain about, but he used a straight blade without any cream/prep on my skin. He did pull out a hot towel at once, but only used it to wipe the hair with it. In addition, I got a very uneven fade on my sides in the end. One side has a nice fade but he went too rough on my other side and trimmed way more. He tried to blame it on my previous barber, which makes no sense because I came after a few weeks since the last trim and you can clearly see one side is cut much shorter than the other. I tried to address it but I was just talked down at (so you can all judge by the photos). He also barely worked on the front. I did ask to not make it shorter, but he could have evened it. I really liked how it was done the first time I came there, but I don’t know how to make sure I get the barber I book with and not whoever is available.

Been going here for about 3 years! Always have a fresh cut when I’m done! Honestly the negative reviews don’t add up so don’t believe them! I’ve always had a positive experience! I always get compliments when I get my hair cut here so look no further! This barbers in this shop are absolute GOATS!

Not a pleasant experience. Made me feel alienated from the get go. Sat me facing away from the mirror, and when I asked to face the mirror to see what was happening, he took offense. Missed a bunch of the area he was supposed to cut, and never showed me the back before I got out of the chair. Not worth $45

Tried every barber in Philly and no one compares to Maltin. He is incredibly skilled and doesn’t cut corners. He’ll spend the time necessary to make sure my hair looks perfect from every angle. I won’t go anywhere else.
