I am very disappointed with my recent experience here. I spent two years growing out my natural, healthy hair and saved up to finally get a peekaboo platinum blonde. I even attached a reference photo of exactly what I wanted. but I left with peachy-brown highlights that looked nothing like it. I also attached a picture of what I left with to show the difference. I was only told after the session was over that it was “impossible” to achieve the color I wanted. Later, over email, she claimed she had explained this beforehand but that never happened. She also refused to provide a refund, and when I asked about a fix, she said I would have to pay full price again. Throughout the entire process, she repeatedly blamed my “hair history,” even though it was not relevant to my current healthy hair. Rather than owning up to the poor service, she placed the blame on me as the client and showed no real apology for the outcome. Never come here to get your hair dyed. I should have listened to the other negative reviews left on this salon.

In a new, large and bright location on College St, my service with Kyle exceeded my expectations. He listened to how I usually style my hair daily along with what products I use, and how I maintain it. He took inspiration from the pictures I showed him but made sure that the cut was perfectly suited for me. I had previous hair colour done, and Kyle also walked me through how the applied colour would look on my hair to make sure that he conveyed the right expectation leading to a wonderful experience overall. My favourite part? A small detail; the reclined sink with a shelf which is so comfortable on my neck (compared to the typical basin sinks at most salons) that I nearly fell asleep.

I recently had an appointment with yuka and she did an amazing job. She took her time and cut my hair kept checking with me throughout the haircut. She gave me tips on how to style it and was really nice overall. Very good experience will definitely recommend it!

I booked an appointment for a perm and haircut. I usually get a short fade on the sides—starting at a 0 and blending into a 1 or 2. When the hairdresser began cutting the sides, she was barely removing any hair. I asked if she had done a fade before, and she admitted she hadn’t. I told her it was okay and asked her to leave it as is, since I could get it fixed by my usual barber. The bigger issue came with the perm. She mentioned it was a "cold" perm and said no heat was necessary. After rinsing, the curls initially looked decent. However, she then blow-dried my hair and applied styling products. I was unsure whether that was the correct process—especially the blow drying—and after leaving, I looked into it and confirmed that cold perms typically shouldn't be blow-dried right away. After the blow-drying and styling, my hair looked completely ruined—dry, frizzy, and with no visible curls. I was still charged full price for both the perm and the half-completed haircut, but I was more upset about the perm result. When I called to share my concerns, I was told it was likely just a styling issue and that using the right products would help. I’ve had perms before and never had this experience. They invited me to return so the stylist could show me how to use the products and style it properly. Even then, it didn’t look how I expected. I read that curls can take a day or two to settle, so I’m waiting to see if that helps. If not, I’ll likely have to return again to get it fixed.
