This airport is awesome. Very small, but very personal. Security and boarding are quick. Boarding, loading, and pre-check were ahead of schedule, and we made even better time to Chicago. Staff were very courteous and helpful. TSA were very pleasant. I really appreciated that. Baggage claim was very quick as well, plus free parking. Think this is my future go-to airport. Great job to the staff there.

Small city airport; Very small terminal with almost no amenities. As of 9/24 only has 2 arrivals & departures to CHI by United. First time flying to & from FOD, relies on 50 seat passenger planes, could cut the size in half and still be enough for the small demand. Less than half full to CHI, only 7 passengers coming back.... more money was probably being wasted on the operational costs of the aircraft over what they made off of 7 passengers. As a pedestrian, an advantage to this airport is being right outside the city by only 1.5 miles with a bike trail that leads straight up to the airports driveway.

A huge thank you to those that run the airport in Fort Dodge!! The Wednesday before Thanksgiving the weather was rather rotten, as it can be this time of year in Iowa. I was certain my flight would be delayed at best and not be allowed in the air at worst. The staff at the airport were amazing!!!! They talked with the pilot of the plane, unable to land on the assigned runway and prepared a runway the plane could safely land on, thus, allowing us all to board and take off. The plane was delayed, but so were those in the major airports, so catching my connecting flight worked out, as did 99% of those with me. The amazing difference between the Fort Dodge Airport and the other larger airports I had connections in was communication. We were told what was happening. We did not have to watch a board and wait. A human being talked with us through the various stages of the events. It was wonderful! A big thank you!!!!
