Customer experiences
Located in the birthplace of Larry Bird this hotel had me dreaming of luxury and it is beautiful, but I expected better for the price. With its beautiful architecture and interesting history it is certainly a centerpiece in French Lick, along with the sister hotel. Let's talk about what I loved...the beauty, the expansive balconies adorned with rocking chairs, the friendly staff, the relaxing pool, the history, the very convenient shuttle service (which picked us up from the local GA airport) and the beautiful grounds. A lot to like. But none of it matters if you can't get a good nights sleep. We did book last minute and felt very lucky, however the room that we got should never be rented out. It was situated right opposite the lift so all night we listened to guests coming and going and by the time that settled it was time for the cleaning staff to arrive. Our sleep was fraught with restlessness and noise. The room itself was quite lovely and would have sufficed if it were not for the empty conditioner and body wash containers. If you are going to do bulk toiletries at least make sure they are full. It's the simple things that you expect to be done well in a $450 a night hotel. I know I'll get the standard response from management, however they need to fix these problems before they arise.
This is one of my favorite get-away places. Staff is always super helpful and friendly. The properties are always very well maintained. It is a must go for us annually. This place is rich in history. You owe it to yourself to come enjoy this and West Baden.
This was a terrific walking tour of this icon hotel. We have hard about the hotel for decades and this was the fisrt time we were able visit it and the area. Our guide was fantastic!! Five stars all the way. She was able to give us a sense of the hotel and area throughout its history and the famous and infamous characters involved with the hotel. Little know facts were also great,
The hotel is a very well maintained piece of Indiana history. The lobby has a beautifully painted ceiling, comfortable furniture and very friendly front desk personnel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The heat and AC have controls in each room. The bathroom is spacious and clean. ||My only complaints are: since it is an older building the sound from upstairs is very loud. And the AC unit is also very noisy.
French Lick Springs Hotel is a resort hotel.
