Customer experiences
My wife and enjoyed coffee and breakfast here this morning in downtown Windsor, NS at Gerrish and Gray. The place was abuzz with community members and patrons with a short 5 minute wait to make our order. The staff were pleasant and accommodating, delivering drinks and food to our table during their busy 10 - 10:30 am stretch. Well let me tell you: my wife ordered a cappuccino with an avocado BLT breakfast sandwich and I ordered a caramel mocha with sticky bun. OMG, every single sip and bite were Fresh, Hot and Delicious! The ambiance was embodied by social chatter and laughter, with everyone content and chilling, getting ready for their Saturday! This was our first visit as we recently moved here from Alberta. Needless to say, we can't wait to return for breakfast, lunch or perhaps both in the very near future! Awesome establishment, staff and people!!! Thank you for a great beginning to our day! Mel & Nancy, Garland's Crossing NS.
one of the nicest cafés i’ve been to in the maritimes — i can’t believe i didn’t know about this place! i was concerned about the space due to one of the photos on here that makes it look a bit cold and empty, but this spot was full of people the entire time and offered a cozy, warm vibe. both the lavender fog and pumpkin spice latte were tasty, as well as the chocolate chip cookie. it was a great place to work too, with wi-fi, washrooms and even a window-facing counter with stools and outlets if needed.
I want to like this coffee shop, I really do as it's now the only coffee shop in Windsor that makes espresso based drinks. The decor/cafe set up is nice but thats about as positive anything gets for this shop. I keep trying it in hopes of a good coffee, but am always let down. The coffee is never good, the drinks are too milky (a cappuccino is not a latte), and when making a request for a decaf drink anticipate confirming it is indeed decaf and watching it be re-made because it wasn't. This has been consistent for years and I don't expect it to change anytime soon. If you like good coffee, don't waste your time going here. Plan your trip accordingly and instead opt for Apt 3 in Lower Sackville or Wheelhouse in Kentville. Or better yet, buy your beans from Expedition in Falmouth and learn to make your own home brew better than this shop could ever do.
We arrived, waited 15 minutes for a table, was given menus and then the server never returned. Had to ask another server to take our order. We then waited 30-40 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese and bacon. I would not go here during busy hours as the service was terrible. Food wasn’t bad.
GERRISH & GRAY CAFE is a cafe.
