Customer experiences
Amazing gym with a good atmosphere, a great variety of equipment, personal trainers, and classes. However, the gym can get very busy after work hours, so it can be a challenge getting specific equipment, and people do not want to share the machines or just pretend to be deaf with their headphones. I just wish the gym would get some staff to monitor in case someone needs assistance near the equipment. Speaking of personal trainers, they all look amazing. I had personal training with Harry. He's an amazing trainer, and I have had a very positive experience. If you are determined, then Harry can help make a version 2.0 of yourself. His techniques and guidance have shaped me to have discipline and commitment to work out every day. I'm sure other personal trainers are amazing too. My experience with Harry was excellent; I would say give him a try if you need a personal trainer.
Gym is super crowded!! The women’s section is poorly ventilated and has such a small space to work out. It’s fine if you’re using the machines, but if you want to do exercises on the ground, there’s barely any room. There’s no space to even put an exercise mat because it blocks the area where others are working out with dumbbells. Sometimes you have to wait until they’re done.
A FRIENDLY HEADS UP: Their cancellation policy effectively acts as a hidden fee. To cancel your membership, you must give 30 days' notice. In practice, this forces you to make two additional bi-weekly payments (around $100 total) even after you've decided to leave. This policy was not transparently disclosed when I signed up. Be aware before you commit. While I appreciate the quality of the staff and the workout facilities, I am deeply disappointed with the gym's cancellation process, which almost feels like a trap. This significantly overshadowed an otherwise positive experience.
Terrible gym, too expensive, the machines break down and take months to repair, very few training benches, too many people at all hours, it has the same as Planet Fitness and for $15 a month, I thought that for charging 5 times more than Planet Fitness it would be much better but I was wrong, the only redeeming feature of the gym is the staff, everyone is quite friendly, 5 star employees, 1 star gym
GoodLife Fitness Burnaby Metrotown is a gym.
