GoodLife Fitness Halifax Barrington Place

I couldn’t attend gym for 2 months due to a leg injury. In the meantime i also lost my phone plan and couldn’t call the gym to freeze my membership. The gym was taking money out of my bank and one time it bounced due to not having enough money in my bank as I didn’t get paid by my employer for lost time. I had to pay penalties $25 to the gym and $48 to my bank. I asked the gym to at-least give me a free month because i paid two months fees despite not being able to work out and on top of that $73 penalties. The rude manager at the gym straight up said its my own problem and she wouldn’t give me any free month. She didn’t even try to understand my problem. I do get it planet fitness fee is low but it doesn’t mean you can disregard a members physical and financial problem.

I have been a member over there since last year November.(just opened) All the equipment are good and new. Not far away from my home and I also can shopping after gym. So it is kind of convenient for me. By the way, I like their locker because they maintain them well. Their staff are nice and patient. My top choice for the gym in Halifax.

As I begin to write this review, only a couple of hours after having left this gym where I lived the the very worse situation I have EVER lived in my 43 years of life, I’m trying to find a way to star writing and try to be as non bias as I could possibly be even though I just went through hell at this gym. I’m visiting Halifax from Boston, Massachusetts and since the place where I’m staying doesn’t have much of a gym, I decided to go to the closest planet fitness I could find and put in my work out of the day. As customary, I thought: Why not leave a review since I live reviews to as many place as I can as I visit around the world. And so as I was working out, whenever I had a opportunity between sets and when I was done, before I walked out, I took some more photos for my review (usually I like leaving 50 photos and a couple of videos), with now over 1400 reviews I thought I had this review thing figured out, well, sadly I didn’t. I didn’t know that people are so desperate for attention nowadays that they would make up stories not only in their minds but also speak them out loud. As I was walking towards the bathroom with my earpiece on listening to some rock, I hear a loud screaming coming from behind me, I had no idea what it was at first so I keep waking and didn’t think much of it until I noticed this your lady right behind me, calling me all kinds of names saying I was making videos and taking photos of her and her friends. (Mind you I hadn’t taken a single picture of anyone’s faces, I usually actually, make sure to try not to get anyone’s faces in my pictures) anyways, i have left over 1400 reviews here on google and never expected or experienced anything like this. From China, to brasil and everywhere in between, I’ve left reviews of various places from all industries all around the world and to find myself being so humiliated was devastating… Aside from this nightmare, the gym tho, (which was the focus of my intentions with my photos and my review yet to come), was great. Very clean gym, the had a few rowing machines which is my favorite warm up machine and I’ve never seen this many stairs machines in ANY gym. The staff was corróis and friendly, despite what happened. Bathrooms were clean, the gym was clean and even the people seemed like all nice people. But unfortunately, to ruin my up till then impression of the Canadians from Halifax, the accusations I went through completely ruined my night. I missed dinner with my family over having to wait for police (which I called to report the incident) and hopefully I will be able to put this behind me and stop felling the way I feel right now. Anyways, if you’re in the area, looking for a gym, come on in, this is a very good place to work out. I hope you don’t have to go through what I went through. Ps: I would have had a lot more pictures for ya’ll but unfortunately I lost the mood to take them. 😞
