Customer experiences
I like gym Fit4Less, open 24/7, everybody can use in every city. All the time clean. Available all many kinds strength training equipment.
This gym is...special. The front desk associates are more often than not hiding out in the office, and then when you try to get their attention at the front desk they're VERY belligerent towards you. Sorry for interrupting your texting, I suppose. But my biggest complaint is the lack of rule enforcement, specifically the one that states "No Personal Training Allowed." Every time I go to the gym, I see the same two trainers, with different clients every time. One of them (pictured) also trains at the North York Center location. I would suggest that the rules are either for everyone, or for no one. I have brought this up multiple times, and one of the aforementioned front desk associates informed me that the member I had pointed out could "do whatever they want, because they have a Black Card." I have a Black Card as well, but that surely doesn't afford me the ability to ignore the rules of the gym. Maybe it does, who knows. You can't even escalate your complaints beyond the manager, Steven, as all associates assert that there is no head office, no email and no phone number to direct any complaint to. It appears the age old expression of "the inmates are running the asylum" is alive and well. When machines break at this location, they're out of commission for a long time. The regulars at this location are truly the worst...no one wipes down their equipment, people use multiple machines at the same time (then give you grief when you use the machine they're not using). There's so much more, but you can find it all in the other reviews. They are, VERY accurate representations of what your Fit4Less experience would be at this location.
The gym’s setup makes no sense. There are around 50 cardio machines but only one bench press and just one cable crossover machine — I literally have to wait an hour just to do a basic chest workout with cables. No incline bench press, no resistance bands for warmups, and barely any clean mats for stretching. It feels like there’s zero management and the only focus is on making money.
I strongly recommend touring the gym before using the computer outside to buy a membership. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER FOR ISSUES! Things break at the gym: for example the showers and the amenities. The gym doesn’t really know when things are going to get fixed. The lockers can not fit an average size gym bag that is mostly full (like most gym goers gym bags) The dumbbell area only has three normal adjustable benches for the whole gym to share. And the dumbbell benches are parked a little too close to the dumbbell rack. So you might get bugged a lot by people asking if you’re almost done. Most of the cardio equipments heart rate monitors do not work as well as they should (or they are not cleaned properly). Speaking of cleanliness I saw a bunch of dirt (and BUGS CRAWLING ON THE FLOOR in the change rooms, as well as the small fitness room that has the kettlebells/ Swedish-ladders in it) ** will attach video of bugs and dirt in change room. The staff are generally in their office during work hours (..generally). The only showers that are open, (because all the others are broken), are mostly not clean when I open the doors to use them. So I don’t currently shower there. The dumbbells on the rack in the main area only go up by 5lbs.
GoodLife Fitness Toronto Richmond and Bathurst is a gym.
