I wish I could give separate ratings for the customer service and the actual services performed, as they were quite different. Since that's not possible, I’ll share an honest review of my overall first-time experience at Gordon’s Gold Jewellers. To begin, the two services I received exceeded my expectations. I visited the store with an elderly family member who had recently purchased a bracelet for me as a gift from there. We stopped in to inquire about having a few links removed, as the bracelet was too large. As it happened, I also had a watch that needed a battery replacement, so I decided to inquire about that as well since we were already headed to the store. We arrived around 4:00 p.m. on a Friday—just an hour before closing. I was genuinely impressed by how efficient and accommodating the team/person who serviced our jewellery was. They replaced the watch battery on the spot, and although they estimated it would take three weeks to resize the bracelet, it was ready in half that time. Both services were completed professionally and priced fairly. The reason my overall rating is lower, however, is due to the customer service experience we had during the visit. Unfortunately, my family member and I felt unwelcome and out of place. From the moment we entered, the staff member who helped us seemed confused by our presence. When I asked questions about the services, I felt the tone used in response was dismissive and condescending, as though we were being a nuisance. I understand the services we required were at a lower price point than, say, a jewellery sale. However, a customer is still a customer spending their hard-earned money, and is deciding to give your establishment business over others. I want to be fair—I understand it was the end of their workday on a Friday, and everyone can have an off moment. I also used to work in customer service, and I know how difficult those days can be. However, how a customer is treated, regardless of the time or situation, reflects on the business as a whole - especially as a first-time customer. Whether intentional or not, the interaction left us feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. It’s a shame because the actual services were excellent, but the lack of warmth and professionalism from the staff member overshadowed what could have been a completely positive experience. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident.

Very disappointed in the pricing of old stock loose emeralds, how do I know it was old stock? Pricing stated $1,150 per carat on loose emerald I was considering, rec'd a call today that the new price on that emerald is now $3950. Price more than doubled in 2 years on old stock. Bought 1.5 ct Emerald at $900/ct in 2023 updated pricing is now $2,200/ct OUTRAGEOUS! Will shop at JRColumbia which is better value and better pricing.
