Customer experiences
Went to the school board in person after playing phone tag and getting absolutely nowhere with anyone on the board but specifically the superintendent Jennifer. I have contacted the police to file a report, Brant family children’s services and a litigation lawyer as the school named Bellview Public School - has LOST my autistic , 6 year old child THREE times in the past 5 days that school has re started for the season. As my son is autistic and indigenous I have asked Jill Hughes (principal) if my son could have an EA (financially and staff covered by Jordan’s principal) and was told No by Jill, even after the incidents of my child missing during a 40 minute lunch period where his class is left unsupervised. Contacting anyone here is a joke and I recommend to take legal action to be able to get any and all conflict resolute as the principal does not care to nor has any interest in rectifying this situation, and neither does the school board. I was told I would have to wait until my child goes missing completely for implications to be changed around their safety protocols and staffing supervision protocols for children and children with disabilities. This school is a safety concern as the principal will NOT out in safety steps or supervision, repeatedly losing a child is a grave safety concern and requires serious investigation and action. The school has a legal and ethical responsibility to provide a safe environment for children in their care. As said I have tried to contact school board to rectify this and have gotten nowhere so am forced to take legal action soon the school board.
I go to River heights public school and my friend was bullied for months. The girls got warned multiple times but no action was ever taken. It got to physical fights and getting bullied by our entire class. The girls eventually stopped in January 2025 but they never got more than à talking to. This board is horrible with dealing bullying!!!
Went to central public school from kindergarten to 7th grade (in 11th now) and the Principal at the time did just about nothing about bullying. My friend at the time received a racist comment from a kid in the grade above us and I only remember him getting a small scolding from the teacher and disappointed comments from me and his friend. Went through torture in 3rd or 4th grade and only my teacher did something about it. Would not recommend this school board. (Also the water fountains at WDHS (waterford district high school) have lead in them and the water tastes nasty, don't drink it)
I recently had an exceptional and memorable experience while registering my children, and I was fortunate enough to be assisted by the wonderful Tara Duwyn. From the moment we arrived, her kindness, patience, and professionalism stood out. She greeted us with a warm smile and treated us with the utmost respect, guiding us through every step of the process with incredible attention to detail. Honestly, I have never encountered such a remarkable level of care and thoughtfulness before. It felt as though we weren’t just interacting with a staff member but with a true friend, someone genuinely invested in helping us. I am deeply grateful that such an extraordinary individual is part of your team, using her knowledge and compassion to support families like ours. My children, too, were treated with the highest regard, and I was immensely relieved and happy to see them receiving the guidance they needed as they embark on their educational journey in Canada. In addition, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Donna Brown. From the very beginning, she provided invaluable support and offered insightful advice on numerous critical matters. To be completely honest, without Mrs. Brown’s assistance, I’m not sure I would have been able to successfully navigate the complexities of bringing my children to Canada. Her kindness and dedication went far beyond what words can express, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I sincerely wish both Tara and Donna nothing but continued success and fulfillment in all they do. It’s clear that their contributions are making a profound difference in the lives of many.
