Great North Dental came highly recommended to me and I'm thrilled to announce that I literally cannot say enough good things about this entire practice. I'm disappointed with the customer service I received at Great North Dental. As a new patient, I was very clear from my first visit that I only wanted work done that would be covered under my dental benefits. I repeated this concern multiple times and was told they understood. After my initial consultation, they recommended several fillings for cavities that weren't causing any pain or issues. I agreed to schedule appointments only because I had confirmed my coverage requirements with them. At my last appointment, I was informed that I owed nearly $600 because my insurance had reached its yearly maximum. This came as a complete shock, as I had specifically asked them to monitor my coverage throughout treatment. Now I'm facing a significant unexpected expense and cannot receive any dental care, including routine cleanings, for the remainder of 2025. While I understand patients bear some responsibility for knowing their coverage, good dental offices typically track this information for their patients throughout treatment - especially when the patient has explicitly expressed this concern multiple times. A simple insurance verification before each appointment could have prevented this situation entirely. The lack of communication and follow-through on something I made clear was important to me reflects poorly on their customer service practices.
Dr Ruchi and her staff are lovely. She has a very calming and caring demeanour always checking to make sure the patient is comfortable. This helps to ease the stress and anxiety of dental procedures.
