Guardian Sydney's Drug Mart

Been going since it opened a couple years ago - I've only dealt with Tony and Monica, both are wonderful pharmacists. They are friendly, proactive and very easy to talk to. They know my whole family, and always ensure we understand our medication.

I am sharing my husband's experience on his behalf. As his wife, I feel very strongly in recognizing those who make a difference, in our community. We want to commend, Tony, Pharmacist/Owner of Guardian Pharmacy, on his exceptional dedication in consistently providing his patrons extraordinary attention and compassion, when dealing with prescriptions and health insurance provider challenges. With every visit, you are greeted with a welcoming smile, and a genuine concern in resolving any concerns requiring attention. Tony is patient when providing information regarding a new prescription, and/or discussing interactions with medications, as well as validating one’s uneasiness with possible side effects with new medications. More recently, Tony’s wealth of knowledge was paramount in providing documentation to my husband’s insurance provider. Tony’s assistance enabled us to obtain crucial information, which resulted in continuing coverage for my husband. Furthermore, he reassured us of the standard practice by which insurance providers had to adhere. Tony was able to relieve my frustrations, and encouraged us to reach out, in the event my husband was in need of any immediate medications. He alleviated any anxiety surrounding coverage of prescriptions, while my husband’s coverage was being renewed. Tony, and Guardian Pharmacy, continues to be an important resource for our city of Cornwall. I am truly grateful for the honesty and care in which Tony, and his pharmacy, extends to all of us. I want to shine the spotlight on one of Guardian’s pharmacists, Monica. On two separate occasions, Monica was crucial in the clarification of my husband’s medications, and providing assistance with the resolution of my husband’s prescription coverage. Our first interaction with Monica, was regarding clarification on my husband’s, broncho inhalers, anticholinergics, and corticosteriods medications. Over the course of several visits to specialists, my husband’s medications were either duplicated (i.e. too steroids administered simultaneously), or required to be discontinued. Monica contacted the various physicians and nurse practitioners, in an effort to prevent and eliminate possible complications. She was able to assist us navigate through the changes smoothly. More recently, Monica was extremely instrumental in providing, once again, knowledge surrounding medical coverage between two different providers. Monica was patient and empathetic towards my frustration with one of my husband’s medical coverage providers. Monica was able to detail protocol, with regard to which provider took priority to cover prescriptions. Furthermore, she was kind enough to allow me to provide her contact information to one of the providers, for the sake of expediency. Monica has consistently taken her time to reassure those who patron Guardian Pharmacy with any inquiries. Her calm demeanor and empathy is truly outstanding. We are so very grateful and appreciative to be able to reach out to her, during stressful and frustrating situations. Monica is a huge asset as part of the team at Guardian Pharmacy on Sydney Street.
